I am most likely having to sell our little homestead rather unexpectedly and wouldn't hate some opinions on a project that I am not sure is worth completing.
I recently installed a coffee bar with a new lower cabinet and backsplash that I planned to also do the kitchen in. I was going to do it all myself probably this September when I have the whole month off, because the quotes to paint were around like $7000 due to so much grain needing to be filled on them. I already have all the materials on hand, but the labor for this job would easily set me back $10k, and I don't know if it is worth it, although it would make our whole lower level match.
The cabinets would go from dark oak to green and white and the backsplash would go from generic tile to zellige and I would have a simple custom box vent hood installed and remove the over counter microwave.
The home/property is in SETX and has a lot to offer and is so niche due to the size and other amenities I am just not sure it is worth it to drop the coin just before we sell, especially with it being a tough market right now.
The picture attached is what I installed recently as well as a pic of the kitchen. To me it is functional and not worth it but my wife really wants to finish it, but I have to look at it in a purely numbers manner.
