Spike had some really good defenses.

Leach had some really good defenses as well. The stats don't show it because with that offense, the defense was on the field twice as long.

Nothing remotely resembling this team. Just my opinion. But in my estimation this is far and away better than any defense I have ever seen Tech field in over four decades of watching Tech football. Honestly as a Tech fan, it's shocking. We still may have our typical Tech let-down at some point, and if we get to the CFP we may still get smoked by whatever team we play.

But Spike never fielded a defense like this.

I assume this is regarding the link to Blinn? If so, it simply says that if a reasonably smart person wants to get into A&M, they can. A&M is a great school. Truly great. I just don't get this bit of fish camp propaganda that Tech is full of people who wanted to go to A&M but couldn't get in.

I watched some kids at Tech get in that shouldn't have been in college. Public university admission standards have something to do with that, and Tech's are lower than A&M. Freshman chemistry and math courses usually sent them home within a year. Same as with any other big public school. But I also went to school with some really brilliant people.

I chose Tech because it had a degree I wanted, had a conservative culture that I liked (that is similar to A&M's), and was big enough to offer lots of opportunities but small enough that I wouldn't feel lost. 35+ years later, it's been a great choice for me.

I don't get why many Aggies, including some of my best friends and family, can't simply be proud of their school without feeling the need to talk down about other schools. But okay, whatever. As a fellow Texan, I'm glad for you that you're proud of your education.

Nah. I don't buy that Leach fielded a good defense. Not that I can remember, at least. Too many 56-48 sorts of games. Offensive genius, no question, but he recruited for offense. I'm getting to be an old guy now and my memory is slipping, but the only defensive player I can think of that stands out under Leach was Aaron Hunt. Am I missing anyone?

Understand. But my post stated what my wife said that went to tech. She didn't go to TAM so she didn't go to fish camp. Don't understand the fish camp reference.
One of my good friends who worked with me went to tech. I hosted his bachelor party for two days at our ranch and all his groomsmen went to tech as well. We had a lot of fun shooting 5 Stand and Clays. Good bunch of guys….but they trashed talk TAM all weekend…..but all in good fun.

Tech is an excellent football team. Last week they traveled to a hostile environment and beat UHpgrade. Hard to do.

Hostile? Utah was hostile. Cougar high stadium was like a Tech scrimmage in Houston….

Nobody just waltzes into Tempe and beats an unranked Arizona State team in front of 50,000 people.

Storming the field after beating a highly overrated Texas Tech team with a strength of schedule north of 80? How embarrassing, just confirms Arizona State definitely belongs in the Big-XII.

We were without our starting qb and still had a chance to win

Big 12 championship and CFP are still in play

Enjoy the moment. We will still be in the CFP….

Arizona State should be forced to vacate this win. There's never been a team in college football history to lose a starting quarterback at some point in the season, much less asking a backup with a few starts to go on the road and win against an unranked team.
