Bowl games mean a lot more than the CFPs. The SEC for instance got 5 teams into the CFPs, which means nothing. I put more stock into watching teams from conglomerate conferences with a terminal inferiority complex win games over disinterested opponents missing slews of starting players (and perhaps even a head coach).

Oh we did "stay tuned" and watched a non-elite team, in an epic beat down by Oregon. The red faders definitely lived up to their moniker.
