So it's been a couple years now. What are your thoughts on the SEC? Has your perception of the league changed or not? What do you miss about the Big12? If you could snap your fingers like Thanos, what would you change conference-wise?

They are one of many now. they traded Baylor, tech, uh, Iowa state, Kansas, etc. for ole Miss, Miss State, Mizzou, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt. Which is not much different than what they had in the big 12. The Sec is Bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee centric and that's not going to change anytime soon.

They are the far western region of the SEC and are the proverbial old man yelling at clouds about how great they are. The money is good just as long as the mouse doesn't go broke pushing its woke agenda movies on an uninterested public.

Oh and they've found more schools that don't like them.

Fewer blowouts, more competitive match ups. The Big 12 is a garbage league now without Texas and OU.

It was a garbage league well before that. When a conference loses an iconic program and 3 of it's 5 largest media markets you know it's already in the dumpster.

Might wanna look at sippy's record over the last 20 years in the BigXII. OU is probably the only team the BigXII lost, that mattered.

The change in conferences hasn't affected Texas too much. They won the Director's Cup 3 of the last 4 years they were in the Big 12 and the first two years they've been in the SEC. Today they clinched the 2025-26 Cup.

The death of the PAC and the birth of NIL really opened the door for them in the Director's Cup. Stanford can't afford to field teams in every sport anymore with the added travel costs and NIL payroll.

I don't know if Stanford has cut any sports recently, but here is a list of the top 10 schools in the Director's Cup Standings, as of 6/14/2026, in order of # of varsity sports fielded for the purposes of 2025-26 Cup scoring:

Ohio State - 33
Stanford - 32
Michigan - 31
North Carolina - 28
Duke - 27
UCLA - 25
Virginia - 25
USC - 23
Florida - 21
Texas - 21

The scoring structure is they count 19 sports - Baseball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Women's Volleyball, Women's Soccer, and the next highest 14 sports, regardless of gender.

Personally I'd like to see them add a couple more sports - gymnastics and lacrosse. When beach VB was added a few years ago, rumor had it they were also starting up women's lacrosse. However recently when asked, CDC said currently there are no plans to add any more sports.

Prolly not financially wise to be adding sports when building $40+ million dollar football rosters. That was not a slam, btw, as it's just the name of the game now.

Stanford also cut a bunch of sports after COVID.

You're preaching to the choir about bloated football budgets. I'd like to return to the good old pre-NIL $0 rosters. Gone are the days when student athletes just got scholarships- which is still a pretty good deal given today's tuition rates.

That said, if I were contributing to that huge payroll down on the 40 Acres, I'd be demanding a better ROI.

Yeah, CFB is sliding down the chute into the wood chipper and it's dangerously close to the blades!

I would like to see all CFB "contracts" pay in the form of annuities. Giving some 18 year old kid $300K is a recipe for disaster. Would be nice to have the annuity set up to be canceled upon transfer or failure to graduate within 6 years of the last CFB game played (with some built-in exceptions for NFL careers, etc.). Could also add incentives for graduation, GPA, etc.

They are big sports to those athletes competing in them. They put just as much blood, sweat, and tears into their sports as do the athletes in football, basketball, and baseball.

Ole Miss, MSU, Mizzu, Kentucky, South Carolina and Vandy would roll through the Big12 like **** through a goose.
