I would also suggest Lost Rail.
Very good course with great vibes in the clubhouse. Spectacular views of the river.
Omaha airport is just the right size.
A top 100 - 150 course in the US in my opinion.

Just curious to bump this thread and see if anyone had any more recent intel. Anyone have any current thoughts on second clubs/national memberships?

For what it's worth, I work in golf and have for 20+ years. Prairie Dunes would be top of my list for a National Membership. Not to mention, another high end club, salt Lick, is a couple of miles away. Prairie Dunes is spectacular and a great place to go play golf.

I would check into New Holland Golf Club ... will be kind of bare bones amenities wise, but it's a Brian Schneider design. Near Aiken, SC which we all know is kind of a burgeoning spot for golf right now. $40k I think?

On the higher end I'd say Old Sawmill near Charleston, SC.

I also really dig Darmor Club between Houston and Austin.

I have a good friend that is a member at PD and I have to agree. I try to make it up there a couple times a year with him, but if I didn't have that connect that would be top of my list.
