Searched for a previous thread but didn't find much in the way of recommendations for Palm Springs courses.

Anyone have any that they would note as must play or good value?

Indian wells, has that total 70s desert golf vibe.

Its vacation so budget is pretty open. If you have some higher end suggestions that you know are worth it, feel free to suggest. Also, if you know some value options that are worth it, I'd be willing to check those out to. Will be out there a week so might be able to hit a few spots.

Also, I did see the Nicklaus and Norman PGA West courses with openings, but I wasn't sure if the Palmer course was private and if I needed to try to get a pro to call. Gotta look into that.

Havent been out there since covid started, so I cant speak to course conditions. However, I have played pretty much every course you would want to play out there (public courses and some private).

The PGA West Courses are nice. The stadium course (Dye) is the best (and hardest). It will eat your lunch. Dye did the Mountain Course as well, which has some fun holes.

The Classic Club is a nice course, but the wind can be brutal on that side of Highway 10. I think they still play the PGA tourney there.

Desert Willow are great muni courses. Probably some of the best muni's I have played. Remind me of Scottsdale courses like Troon or Boulders (less the rocks).

Silver Rock is a great resort course as well. I think they are going private soon, once the Montage is built out there.

Indian Wells is boring to me. Decent facilities, but the other courses play in to the mountain, etc....

Have fun.

PGA west has 6 courses I think (3 public and at least 2 private). The public Stadium and Nicklaus is where they play the American Express. But I actually like the Norman the best.

Def agree on Indian wells and especially desert willow. It depends on which PGA West course. If you can get on the stadium course that's a definite go. I'm actually not a huge fan of the Norman course personally, but the mountain course is great too. Silver Rock as another has said.
