Ours did not, which I found a bit surprising I guess. Was curious if other places did or not.

Seems hit and miss from what I've seen. Usually just need to cover these bermuda varieties when it gets solidly below 25. The frozen precip is actually insulating. This week has sucked as far as icing, but we haven't really had a deep cold plunge.

East DFW. Club covered them Monday night. We have a tournament Saturday. Will be muddy but doesn't matter to me. I'm ready to play. 53 on Saturday will feel like beach weather compared to this.

This was a tough call. Forecast temps were not to a level that would usually warrant covering. But, temps got a little lower than forecast and temps are going to end up being below freezing for around 72 hours. Generally, if temps are going to get below 25 or so and stay there for a while - not just one night - or temps are going to stay below freezing for an extended period, courses will usually cover.

I don't think there will be any problems because the ice insulation we got is every bit as good a "cover" as a material one.

In S. Austin it never really got cold, just a couple of degrees below freezing. The roads were always passable, although bridges eventually iced over. Thus, there was a lot of heat in the ground, and there was no wind to suck warmth out of greens, so perhaps covers weren't needed.

On the other hand, my local course, Grey Rock, is preparing to shut for spring and summer to completely rip out and replace greens and tee boxes, so I suspect they weren't too worried about it regardless. In any event, they have announced they are closed at least until Wednesday due to massive amounts of tree damage.

Ours in Las Colinas did not. But, and we're talking nuclear buts here, the ice and moisture made it ok. At least according to our greens keeper. If it were dry and in the Mid 20's then it would have been bad. Here's a picture from Wednesday.

Ours does to a fault but I understand their PTSD after Feb '21.

Me when I hear they are still covered after it's over 32 degrees…
