I'm about halfway through and am mostly enjoying it. I concur that I don't really like the chronology of it. I get why they chose to highlight a golfer or 2 per episode, but it's hard to distill a PGA season to an hour (and even more so if you're trying to give the player's background for context as well). Seems like they tried to cram so much in that they ended up saying very little at times.

I would have preferred to take the season in order and then dedicate an episode each to each major. Would have been cool to see all of them converge on Augusta and then highlight how they each go about that week.

Agree. It's similar to Drive to Survive (same company I think) so things get out of order. Hopefully season 1 is very 'Hey dummy' introductory about the game of golf and then future seasons get a little better, as was the same with DTS.

Are they doing a season 2? Has NF been at the first few events?

I would hope they don't abandon it after 1 season but who knows.

Edit, just saw these online:

Homa, Rahm, Tom Kim, one of the Ryder Cup Captains would all be good off the top of my head.

I wonder if they'll be able to talk to the LIV guys. It would be interesting to hear some "inside the ropes" takes a year later and whether any of them have regrets.

I would imagine they can if the players are willing. They followed Poulter around a bit during the LIV event in London last year, and spoke to him, Brooks, and DJ all post LIV for this season.

more curious if the PGAT wouldn't give them access if they talk about LIV post divorce.

after watching episode 2, i see why Brooks went to LIV. He doesn't have it in him mentally or physically to compete on the PGA Tour and took a guarenteed big time payday based on his past performance and name.

Poulter and DJ sat down with them and were candid. If I recall on Brooks, they asked him about LIV (which the context of the question indicated the interview was prior to his announcement) and in return got a grin and eyebrow raise. Seems like he ended access by the time he announced

Poults and DJ laid it out quite nicely and I can respect their decision. Seems to me like Brooks is just bailing on competing and wants an easy out.

On the PGA Tour you only get a paycheck if you make the cut. I'm not a fan of working for free. - Poulter

If some one paid you to do the same job you're doing now but the only differences are you'll work less and get paid way more. Who wouldn't take that deal? - DJ

I would love a LIV edition of Full Swing.

Nice to have both perspectives instead of looking at it from a "Pro-PGA" lens.

I'd watch it.

They've featured 4 LIV guys (+ sort of a 5th in Niemann since he got a decent chunk of Mito's episode) and for those that decided earlier, gave them a platform to explain their decision. The fact is it's clear in order to produce this show for release now, they shot the meat what they needed in Feb to mid-June which was almost entirely pre-LIV events.

I think the show has done a good job of just letting all these guys and the people close to them tell their story overall, whatever story that may be.

Yeah but it had a pro PGA spin at the end with Rory.

That was the undertone. "Saving the sport we love, show the kids the game of golf, love for PGA".

In the last episode I'm pretty sure he talks about his decision to ultimately leave, and it had been some time since the beginning since his hair wasn't bleached anymore.

Thought the show was good, but a little too back and forth from the perspective of the calendar. I wish they would make it more documentary/bio style and pick 5 or 6 guys and basically just follow their journey for the season instead. A couple rookies, a couple middle of the pack guys, and then a couple of the top 10 players. Would be easier to see how each tier player prepares for tournaments, majors, etc instead of the flip flopping so much.

here are the players I'd like to see

Harry Higgs and Wesley Bryan-both have been on the PGAT and now are kinda on that bottom platform with Korn ferry fighting for their card

Finau/Damen-thought they both came off great and people would like to keep up with them

Rahm/Scheffler- both at the top of their game and are back and forth for #1

of course I'd also like them to keep in touch with some LIV guys. Poulter for sure. Maybe Harold Varner III as the other? would have an older guy and younger guy. Or cam Smith

I agree on the chronology. I was expecting them to follow the dozen or so they tagged for the season for the year. Instead we bounced back and forth so often.

As one of the NLU guys said "if you didn't know any better and only watched this show, you'd think Tulsa was the epicenter of American golf"

Which any Rory focused episode was gonna cover that because that is his story

I'm on the Fitzpatrick episode right now. Please tell me they do more with their unprecedented access to ANGC than has been shown so far.

Finished it Tuesday and it definitely changed my perspective on Poulter. I used to not like him, but I've come around. Granted the majority of my previous disdain for him was from Ryder Cups. Funny to see how self deprecating that he is and also seems like a great/fun dad to his kids.

Just got through episode 3 and echo a lot of comments here and will only add:

I always hated Poulter during Ryder Cup but root for him all the rest of the time. Seems like a fun guy, really great dad.

Koepka's house, fuzzy swing? WTH was that? Bet that's the first thing that comes down when she hits the bricks and leaves.

Personally, I would take the LIV money and know that my kids' kids are well taken care of and all the rest of the family and any others I would want to help along the way.

About halfway thru the season. Just finished the Dahmen episode. With Dahmen being the exception, I have been surprised by how much they cuss. I have spent a lot of my life in refineries and the oil fields and those golfers can certainly stand in there in a cussing match.

the best part of the Koepka espisode is him sitting there while she is going through what outfit to wear and you can tell he is just 100% focused on golf/something else. Couldn't be more disinterested.

My Chilean wife might be more interested in watching golf after the Mito episode. She has never related to a documentary more than when they started drinking piscolas.

It was the biggest story in golf last year and multiple people they chose to follow ended up going there. What else do you do?

I completely get that. Like I said, LIV is a big deal and I understand why it was a topic of discussion with Poulter, Johnson, McIlroy, et. al.

I'm just tired of the PGAT vs LIV debate.
