I liked the team aspect. Doesn't get in the way of the individual play during the tournament and adds some extra juice on Sunday.

I think it only gets stronger too now that players aren't going to be moving around teams and the roster will be locked for the season.

Something about the arrogance of the Saudis thinking they are going to buy their own golf tour that will rival the world's best. Time for some humble pie as they burn a few billion on a lost venture

PGAT certainly wasn't arrogant in not offering their tour all the money available to play for...or assume a good chunk of their top players wouldn't leave.

It's gonna be hilarious when a liv golfer wins a major this year and wears a crushers shirt or some other dumb team name.

The league is going to fail. Nobody has any interest in watching and the golf is terrible. A bunch of guys that used to be good players because they put in the time and effort to be the best but now are content with their massive paychecks and throwing up a couple 76's

Claiming a good chunk of the PGA Tours top players left LMAO. The only two they prob cared about were Cam and DJ. Maybe Koepka.

Funny. This is exactly what people said about A&M and Jimbo Fisher. I have nothing against Saudi Arabia trying to start a league. Also love the PGA Tour.

I miss DJ, Koepka, Cam, Reed, Bryson

As far as popular/polarizing golfers...they are all top 10

I prefer the PGAT fields...but most of the "edgy" guys left

Now we are left with great golf without a lot of personality... this is why PGAT is trying to do more "fun" content like the Euro tours do

LIV ended up taking almost 30% of the top 40 golfers in the world. You can not like LIV all you want but that's a lot of talent. That doesn't include some of the more popular players like Phil, Sergio, and Bubba.

The PIP was implemented in 2021 as a way to reward members who, through a series of metrics, are shown to drive the most positive interest in the PGA Tour.....LIV took 5 of the top 10 players that were driving positive interest in PGA Tour.

Boredom. Sure. The PGA tour just had one of the highest payouts and best field for a finish in quite a while and not a peep here.

LIV is interesting. Whether you want to see it fail or want to see it succeed. Golf fans are interested in the topic. Not so much the product. Yet.

Golf just doesn't lend itself to real time posting like football. While you may be rooting for certain players, you're not living and dying with every shot like most here do in football. Also, much less inclined to gripe when your golfer screws up (which is about 90% of posts on the gameday threads on premium).

This board has had some really active weekend tournament threads the last handful of years, and not just for the majors. The last half of last year and early this season have been virtually nonexistent.

Maybe that recent lack of discussion is isolated just to this board and not twitter, etc...but I'd disagree completely that it doesn't lend itself to real time posting. Due to the pace being slower, I could argue it lends itself better than football or basketball.You can fire off a tweet/post and have a mini discussion but still not miss upcoming action you're interested in.
