Been looking forward to playing Cascata on a trip i took to Vegas last week. Played Bali Hai on Thursday and Cascata on Friday.

Bali Hai--$250pp all in, good shape, loud from the planes, etc. Nice deal...not worth $250, but it's close and that just is what it is....would play it again. Fun course.

Cascata--$500pp+$50 for the caddie...GREAT clubhouse and staff...Nice track...but the conditions are terrible....Greens bare(one was even partially covered with a tarp)...In one of the bunkers, I skulled a shot because I hit the liner fabric....Caddie was weak...etc.

Really disappointed in Cascata. I was really looking forward to playing a course that is annually one of the best you can play in the US. Compared to Passatiempo, Sawgrass, PDC, and Eastlake that would be comparable in status, it was nothing close.

Compared to a Peachtree or Wade Hampton, it wasn't in the same universe.

Really bummed about it

Sucks to hear. Can't charge full price with those conditions.

Did they give any reason why? I play a tourney out there every June and the course has always been in fantastic shape.

As far as the caddie, they can be hit or miss. I've got to know a few and have certain ones I request when I go out there.

Any time a Vegas thread comes up, this is my recommendation. That place is ****ing nails.

The caddie said they were undergoing an ownership/management change and left it at that. It had obviously been neglected for a while.

Our caddies name was Bart. Nice enough guy, just nowhere near the level of insight you would expect . We'll try Paiute next time

Horrible to hear about Cascata. One of the best golf experiences I have ever had about 5 years ago.

Do you have any pictures? I'd be curious to see how it compares to last June. I've posted a few from that trip.

Looked back and didn't take any on the greens. Yours look better than ours through. Ours had plenty of bare spots. they rolled pretty true but they had mowed and rolled them that morning.

Man that's really disappointing. I've been wanting to play Cascata for years, but I had already balked at $300. Now it's $500 AND it's in crappy condition? Guess I'll never play it.

Rio Secco and Paiute are both well under that

I'll try and post pics from my trip there in June. Hopefully conditions have improved by then.

Indian Reservation! No water restrictions! And yes, great conditions but out in BFE which was also kind of cool

Paiute is my primary rec whenever one of these Vegas threads pop up.
