Do you travel with your clubs?

Thus far, I have always either traveled with my clubs or not golfed. Most of vacations with golf are close to Texas (or Cali when I lived there) or Florida and we drive. But we are planning some fun trips over the next couple of years to Maui, Ireland and Greece. I would love to play a couple of rounds during the week, especially in Ireland, but I don't want to bring my clubs. I know I can rent, is it worth the extra expense to rent and play? Do you get decent clubs? Does it take away from the experience?
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Maui, Ireland, and Greece….. hmmm…. I would definitely use ShipSticks (with an air tag) for trips like that but I'm left handed so that factors in as well.

If I ever get the chance to play golf in Ireland I want my sticks with me.

I always bring my own, but I do have a buddy that rents a lot. The quality answer varies by course, and a nicer course does not always correlate to nicer rentals. Personally, it never made sense to me to go to the expense and trouble to visit these places and NOT have my clubs where I can be certain I'll be able to play my game at these great courses. A stand bag and a collegiate Club Glove help make it more convenient.

I always take my clubs. I'd rather not play than play with a rental set.

I have never packed my clubs. I always rented or used a friends spare set. I am done with that crap. As stated, if I am going to take the time and expense to play, particularly a nice course, I want my gear. Fighting gear that has been abused, is crappy, or really old makes the round not so much fun. The worst part is the putter. I got a new spider once, that was nice. All the rest have been total turds on a stick.

I don't take my clubs unless it is an exclusive golf trip with friends. Rentals are pretty good. They sue rentals as a way to get awareness for new clubs. Most of the time they are pretty good. In Maui, you can choose between TaylorMade or Callaway.

I've only used rentals a few times. Grips tend to be pretty worn. Wedges are skimpy. Usually are super game-improvement.

I've also traveled with my clubs a number of times. It's a pain in the ass, but worth it to me.

AirTag and bring your clubs with you. I've brought my clubs and ended up not playing. It's really not that bad if you have a decent travel bag.

Always take mine if I'm playing more than 1 round. If it's only 1 round, it does make it difficult. Also, the quality of course will also depend on that. If I'm going to Cabo, renting. If I'm going to Ireland/Scotland, I want to play my best so I need mine.
