Palmilla is awesome if you are just looking for a quick casual round. I think it is actually 12 holes with a par 32 9 and three seperate par 3s.
I can tell you that two summers ago it was in PGA tournament condition and was an absolute blast.
Glad you found that. My nephew is a "member" and I've played out there a couple of times. I freaking love it for small town golf and essentially growing up in that area. Rough, low key, and scrappy. Matches the weather conditions on a regular basis.Muy said:
Ended up at Live Oak "Country Club" and had a blast on this goat ranch. Amy who runs it essentially does damn near everything there. The fairways were so hard the ball rolled forever, the wind was so strong you had no idea what to hit, and the greens were so small and hard you might as well have been on a putt putt course.
Had a blast. Amy said they "have the best burgers in the county", so had 1 knowing I had nothing to compare it to. No merchandise which was a bummer since it's the kind of course I'd like to have a hat from. And the Friday noon scramble had about 9 players in it, so we waited all of 30 minutes after they started to tee off.

Rockport Country Club used to reciprocate. Not sure since 2020. They layout reminds me a lot of Briarcrest in Bryan.
