I took my kids to the one in Katy. It's fun, but certainly not revolutionary. I mean, it's just a putt-putt course with a bar in the middle and a separate restaurant. I say separate because you can't have/hold a table while you play, which was disappointing. You can only get a table while you eat. So we played first and then got a table to eat and then had to get up to play some more. It was ok for us because we had a small group and everyone played, but if you had a larger group with some who just wanted to hang out or were a parent that didn't want to play, then it would kind of suck. Anyway, the putt-putt course itself was nice, but nothing new or innovative or different.....it's just a putt-putt course with no obstacles or anything to make it novel or interesting. And when busy (which it was for us) one big/slow group will have it stacked up 2-3 groups deep waiting between each hole. We ended up sitting on the ground wherever we could find room for 5+ minutes between every hole. At the end of the day the kids had a decent time, but I was underwhelmed and wouldn't go back on a weekend.
I see people comparing it to Top Golf....it is nothing like Top Golf beyond involving a golf ball, drinks (and separately.... food). It would have been much, much better if they had it set up in the style of a beer garden with tables spread around the grounds and the ability to hang out and casually eat some, drink some and play some over the course of a couple hours...like Top Golf. But that's not how it is.
