Really wish Phil would inform Cam Smith, would be nice to see Cam perform at the level he was at when he went to LIV.

Phil's best was apparently a +10 tie for 58th

Some merit to what he says...... after a sample size of 2.

LIV's half a dozen or so elite golfers are going to be elite whether they're playing LIV or PGA. Nobody's game has been transformed since they went to LIV.

Cam Smith finished T9 at the PGA Championship (his career best at the PGA by the way), so not exactly a strong counterpoint.

I think we would all be shocked at how many guys were looking to jump before Phil opened his mouth with his "interview".

More people watched Koepka play this weekend than all the tournaments he's played since he joined LIV combined. Give me a freakin' break.

How'd he do at the masters?

This was actually suggested on fried egg podcast yesterday. Many of the PGAT guys said they were tired around the masters. Liv guys may have some crazy overseas travel but the downtime has allowed koepka and Bryson to heal and practice. They basically focus for 4 tournaments and make lots of money playing loose the rest of the year. Majors are all that matter anyway to these guys.

The tour has pretty much admitted this year's schedule was thrown together and the pacing should be better next year.

I would point out that Phil played in a total of 19 events in calendar year 2021. This calendar year he'll play in…. 19 events. But maybe that last 18 holes each week was really taking it out of him

Use our tour as a warm up for majors, come join us!

Sure some internal Saudi LIV marketing guy gets a finger cut off each time Phil says something that goes against the 'growing the game' and 'team golf' narrative.

Speaking of, go Mystics!!!!

Really? Can we just wait to see when we have more than two majors in the books? BK won 4 majors before joining LIV, so I'm not buying Phil's opinion yet.

Yeah sure, he back doors a t9 8 shots back after being nowhere near contention through the first three rounds. Real competitive advantage LIV!

They also had a golfer win the pga and finished 2 out of the top 3 at the masters. It's definitely an advantage to not have to grind out a regular pga schedule to earn a living rather than get guaranteed money.

Viewership has absolutely no correlation to a golfer's preparation going into a major.

You're completely missing the point.

I can't tell if you have no clue what you are talking about or just trying to be a satire pro PGAT troll.

Because your comment applies equally to the PGAT and LIV. The majors are the point. It's why many of us think the majors will just form their own alliance and use the leverage they have to make the weaponization of the OWGR by the PGAT irrelevant.

If the 4 majors are supposed to be toughest and most rewarding challenge, they are going to want to make sure they get the best players. Not just what the PGAT rigs.

He's not missing it. He just doesn't have a valid counter point.

So move the goal posts and attack something irrelevant to the conversation.

That's true, perhaps my hang up is with Phil and his statement that it's a FACT that the LIV schedule is better for majors. In the end it may actually be true but using guys that had previous success in majors prior to going to LIV isn't exactly a compelling argument for me.

Brooks did just fine winning majors pre-LIV. Bryson won the US open and finished T4 at the PGA prior to going to LIV. These guys are quality players that were in contention pre-LIV. Acting like going to LIV was a cheat code for these guys being in contention/winning majors seems a little disingenuous to me when they were doing it before LIV.

More people watched him this weekend then on all the PGAT tournaments he played since joining the LIV. And he chose to go that route because of the failed PGAT leadership. Nothing like driving away your best players and then getting owned by them.

Your argument isn't what you think it is.

Both Bryson and koepka got injured...I'm sure less golf and more rest played into them going LIV

Potential argument to be made that LIV has allowed them rest and recover to get back into form faster

I don't think the saudis are burning all this cash to play second fiddle to the majors. They want to be the majors, right, or else, why do it?

Yeah, that's the thing, it's just arguments, not actually fact. Others could say going to LIV is a disadvantage because LIV doesn't play as many competitive rounds so LIV players aren't as sharp and point to Rahm winning the masters and Scottie/Viktor t2 at the PGA as the basis.

The point is that Phil stating going to LIV is an advantage is not a fact as he suggests, just an arguments based on personal bias. Phil needs for everyone to know he's the smartest guy around. He needs the validation that his actions were right. That's what this all boils down to.

Nope. Just a successful competitor to the PGAT (approximately $5B dollars in the 2021-2022 season between donations and purses alone).

The majors will always be separate and more prestigious than the tours.

Nothing any of these posts have contributed are facts. Just opinions. The only facts are where the LIV players are finishing in tournaments in fields with PGAT golfers. And so far the LIV top to bottom has out performed the PGAT relative to the proportion of players in the field for both.

It appears the players believe it is an advantage and that's what matters.

I think everyone is stating things that aren't facts...mostly well thought out opinions.

For every LIV example of a guy playing well or poorly there is the same example on PGAT. Golf is really hard to play at a high level consistently every week...near impossible

LIV announces a PPV option on YouTube for $3/day. I can't imagine that is going to be a significant source of revenue, although LIV officials seem pretty pumped up about it. What else can they say?

Nike looking to buy koepkas team for reported 2 billion?

Thats crazy if true...I can't see it worth that much thougg

Koepka most likely is an equity owner in his team like Bryson...

Let's see where this goes
