We are in pretty good shape, for how we've played. T11 and 3 shots out of 8th. Granted there's 14 teams between +10 and +20. We need to play well tomorrow and hopefully start trending upwards

+5 probably keeps us in the 10-15 range but it would be nice to be E which probably gets us to T8.
Such a hard course. I always like more birdie chances. There are only 12 guys under par. Seems small.

The leaders are on the course
Scoring much better so far early. Interesting the field is flipped with leaders going off first which seems like a huge advantage outside of later groups knowing exactly what they need scoring wise.
We're not in bad shape. If Sam can get going, I like our chances a lot. And I am betting on Sam getting it going

I find the move to sit Vishnu interesting. So far isn't paying off at all. This seems like a course you have to play a couple times to figure out. Vishnu hasn't been playing well but not sure this wasn't the best move in hindsight.
Maybe he needed a day off to rest up or get in a better mental state. There's a lot more that goes into those decisions than if someone is scoring well.
Totally get that. The pressure is on our other 4 guys now though to have good rounds. I hope Vish can figure it out and be ready to go tomorrow, assuming that's the plan.

while we seem to have trouble with our #5 for whatever reason, we 're in a good spot if everyone stays steady. Don't need to win it today, just don't lose it
Does this course just not suit Sam's eye? He is a bulldog so get to matchplay and i think he grinds out a victory

He has hasn't been himself this year in college tourneys, minus his win...by his standards I should add. He said at The Masters his focus wasn't there. Can't imagine it's that right now. Hopefully this is a fluke because he has some BIG tourneys coming up to try and earn his tour card.AgLA06 said:

Holes 8 and 9 (our finishing holes) have been birdie holes for most teams above us today. In theory we should pick up q couple shots there.
Be glad Dylan Menante transferred to the Tar Heels or they would be lapping the field !

So 18 for the women was a par 5. As a 4, we played it 3 over for scoring players. If they'd left it a short 5, we are 1 under. /why par doesn't matter.

We'll start the day 4 strokes out of 8th. That's way better than 14 strokes at the regional, but we also won't have teams like Northern Illinois spitting the bit.
