I went down this road for my oldest (8 yrs) at the end of last year. I was committed to one on one coaching / lessons so she had the advantage of learning the right way instead of figuring it out herself like I had to do.
We put her in a one week camp by chance that happened to be through the Junior PGA OP36 program and she loved it. She's now at Cypress Golf Academy in their OP36 program and thriving. The program is pretty awesome. It's group based 1 hour lessons once a week and a tournament every other week. While it's group based ratios seem to be about 3/1 with coaches and high school / college players as mentors and any time I have a question regarding something she's struggling with, they pull her aside and work one on one during or after class.
Skills learned during class
https://operation36.golf/the-curriculum/Tournament rankings / levels explained
https://operation36.golf/The point is to test / pass 4 skills each 8 weak semester until you pass all 12 skills each ranking as they work their way up the program and ranking (levels).
Feel free to DM if you have any questions. They tend to have a bring a friend to class once a semester that would allow you and your kid to see what a class is like.
