Sammy E round. Palmer +4. Cam is +4 through 11 and 4 putted the par 3 16. He had a par putt from less than 5 feet and got a double. Insanity.

Sam was throwing darts at the pins today, but couldn't make some mid-range putts. He had a great round and he's in the last group tomorrow. Hope he makes the cut.

Safe to say Sam is already the best Aggie on tour, despite not being on tour. I think age is finally catching up to Ryan and Champ has been completely lost for a couple of years. Also pretty safe to say we've seen the last of Burgoon contending.

Hopefully Bennett and Phillips can carry the torch going forward.

Tracked the Sam and Aberg group today in the app. The big difference between Sam being E and Aberg being -4 is Aberg making his 8-20 footers for birdie. That and Aberg outdrove him by 20+ every time giving him easier wedges or mid irons in. Sam missed a pretty simple 4 footer for birdie on the Par 5 on the front 9. If he can work on his putting and add maybe 10-15 more yards off the tee, he will be in and win a quite a few events. This year was good experience for him and at least gave him a taste of the level he needs to be at.

Hopefully, Sam can get a good coach that will help in in those areas.

I'm following JT today since he's gonna need a great finish to make FedEx cup playoffs.

He was super dialed in on 1 and 2 - had a 7 foot birdie look on 1 and birdied 2. He followed it up with bogey on the par 3 third hole by missing a 3'3" putt. Ouch.

Sam is playing outstanding, but what Aberg just did on #5 is why he's a next-level pro. He hit a 330 yard drive in the middle of the fairway - Sam hit his 300 yards in the rough just off the fairway. Sam's second shot was 230 yards and Aberg's was less than 190. Aberg lands it within 6 feet and eagles, Sam has to lay up but makes a great chip shot to a couple feet and birdies.

Outstanding play by Sam, but reaching par 5s in 2 will be huge for him to be successful on tour. He reached both of the par 5s yesterday in 2 so maybe I'm reading into this a bit too much.

Sam needs to make money while he can before his back blows up.

I will be surprised if Aberg isn't in the top 5 golfers in the world in the next few years. He is just a machine with no obvious weaknesses.

On #11, his drive just went 350 yds in the middle of the fairway. He has under 120 to the pin. Sam's went 297 and in the rough. 175 to the pin from the rough. These things matter. And I don't mean that as disrespectful to Sam.

Anyone that can hit it 350 and straight has a huge leg up on the field. He also has a good short game and solid putting. Sam's distance will need to improve if he is going to excel in the PGA and I think he knows that.

PSA : ESPN+ has separate channels to watch 15 and 16. Sam is on 14 now, so your chance to see him on tv is coming up
