Heard through the grapevine that NBC/Golf Channel would not be renewing Chamblee's contract. I have no sources to confirm this. Has anyone heard anything about this?

No big loss from my perspective.

The only place I've seen this rumor is the @LIVTracking Twitter account. Are any reputable sources reporting it?

I wouldn't miss him and not just because he is a t-sip.

I don't remember the awkward stare down. May have missed it because I got tired of listening to him talk and turned it off.

Yeah, I swear Chamblee's lower lip was quivering like he was about to cry. It was some great live TV.

Yea he is opinionated just like everyone else is. He just has the platform to tell the golf world his. I do appreciate a lot of the research he did detailing things that happened in the past on tournaments and players.

I do usually get a chuckle when I see him do his little chair swivel move when he's doing major coverage with McGinley et al. It reminds me of Dan Akroyd on Weekend Update.

I get it... but look, I'm good with Tom Kite and Ben Crenshaw, both Sip. For me jury is out on Jordan Spieth and Scott Scheffler. They seem ok.

Brandel was dead to me the second he badmouthed Tiger a few years ago. Dead! It showed a total lack of respect and integrity

No idea, but when I spent a little time with him he was really cool and grounded.

funny story from years ago. One of my good friends from high school played golf at Texas (then dropped out and played one year on the PGA and a couple in South Africa), so he was friends with Brandel, Mark Brooks, etc. Any way my friend was working for Paine Webber, and he got the idea that he, me (CPA), and another friend (Lawyer) should start a sports agent business. Our first (and only potential client dinner) was with Brandel and another golfer named Robin Freeman during the old Shell Houston Open.

We were young and had no idea what we were doing. Needless to say, we didn't start a business; but we did drink a ton of Margaritas at the old Molina's on Buffalo Speedway that night.

Brandel was super serious, with an air of being a stuck-up snob even then.

Yeah I think if you compare his career to everyone who's ever been in the PGA Tour he's definitely above average.

Also I've never heard him brag about his career.


This isn't on my list of reasons I dislike him lol.
