If you're close to Troon north, play either Troon Monument, or Grayhawk Raptor. Both top courses in Az

Monument looks to be closing for maintenance mid June for 2 months or so.

Just an FYI to anyone looking at Quintero it closes June 1 until November for renovation.

What are they doing to Q? Any intel?

1 course to pick I'd do We-Ko-Pa Cholla but either one is great.

I don't know what they're doing at Quintero but someone that takes visitors out there quite a bit told me so take that for what it's worth.

I was at We-Ko-Pa today and it's primo right now. After the round I talked to a 10 man bachelor party from Montreal and they asked if it's always this hot. It was 83 today. The bartender nearly fell over laughing.

I take it that the Estancia Club is near impossible to get on? We are staying at the 4 Seasons, so it's too close to not try.
I'm going to try going through my club because it's worth a shot, but I'm not expecting anything to come from it.

Have a chance to play two rounds in October - 14th (Tue) and Friday 17th (morning only as a 6:00pm flight out of Phoenix).

For Oct 14 we can currently book on-line for Boulders - South $200, TPC - Champions $190, Greyhawk - Talon $260, Troon-Pinnacle $270, Talking Stick-Oodham $150, Legend trail$120, Ocotilllo $80 .

For Friday we can book TPC-Champions $240, Grayhawk Talon $350, McDowell Mountain $160, Troon - $370 Legend trail - $220, Ocotillo $110

Seems Camelback, We-Ko-Pa, Las Sendas might not take reservations this far out because nothing available on their websites.

Also looks like Westin Kierland is available both days, as well as some other courses near Chandler/Mesa (Whirlwind, etc.)

Based on that list what would you pick?

Here's the overseed calendar. I'd be checking this for October golf. Keep in mind if you play a course that's re-opened it's probably cart path only for at least 2 weeks.

Ocotillo is fun, but I wouldn't put it up there with some of the others on that list.

Played the other Talking Stick course last weekend (Piipash) and the course was in fantastic shape, so I imagine Oodam will be, as well.

I'd hit Grayhawk one of those days, and then probably choose one of the others up north from your list (Boulders, Troon).

If you have a bit of time to drive, Dinosaur Mountain is about 30 minutes away, and it's a lot of fun. Longbow is also a decent option that's in the vicinity.

Oodham is wide open. Huge fairways. Also millions of little ground squirrels.

A good course for the day people fly out is Raven. It's just south of the airport. It's more parkland than traditional Arizona. Good views of downtown.

I thought about this thread after the last 5 days of crazy weather and see you're here today. Like most I've been hunkered down during the flooding and just getting out again today. I've seen a few videos of courses underwater the last couple of days. I hope you're able to get some golf in this week.

supposedly playing TPC - Champions at 12:30 today. Then Wigwam on Friday. wW had a hard time finding courses open due to overseeding, much less due to the flood.

I'm mentally preparing myself for CPO and a 5-1/2 hour round today.

I live in the Dinosaur Mountain area and we got absolutely hammered for 4 days. Good luck.

it was pretty disappointing. Greens were slower than anything I've putted in years, and fairways had not been mowed for awhile. I'm sure a combo of the overseed and rain. Beer was cold and not too expensive!

I've been coming out here for years and living here for 3 years. I've never seen anything like what we got from Friday night until late Monday. Hopefully you'll get some better conditions before you leave.
