We-Ko-Pa Saguaro today. 6966 yards, 77 (+6)

Course was immaculate, amazing views every hole and really was top notch all around. The wind got up to 20 mph and 35 mph gusts the last 9 holes which made it a tough test. Based on this threads title, this could be one of the "one course to play." But still have Quintero & TPC champions to still play

I'm partial to We-Ko-Pa and Las Sendes (add Dinosaur Mountain) because they're near me but I think you'll love Quintero. It would be my "if you can only play one" course.

Glad to see some pics of We-Ko-Pa Saguaro. Heading over next week and playing it Wednesday morning.

Dang. Forecast changed a good bit. It's been saying highs in the 70's and lows in the low-40's.

My tee time isn't actually til 10:50, but I plan on getting out there about 9:30 to check everything out and warm up.

Last round of the trip @ TPC Champions. 7115 yards, shot 74 (+3)

This is not the "one course to play" in phoenix. Conditions were fine, interesting layout but nothing crazy. Was around $180, would choose Las Sendas over this every time at the price point. Not sure how this is sloped at 135, should be way lower

After the round, went over to Stadium course and walked over to 16. Man what a spectacle that is even crazier in person. Can't even imagine what it's like when every seat is filled

Anyone that plays either TPC course Volanti at the Scottsdale Airport is kind of a cool place for eats and drinks. You can sit on the patio and see how the rich people come and go.

With the car show going on, I must have saw over 100 private jets fly over TPC, it was insane

Alright. Week of my Scottsdale trip. Looking at the forecast, and I have a 10:50 tee time Wednesday at wekopa. What's your recommendation of attire?

Scottsdale would be a little warmer than Fort McDowell. I'm going to Superstition Mountain CC in Gold Canyon tomorrow to watch the Aggie women in a tournament. Pretty near to We-Ko-Pa. I'll post after that. Supposed to be upper 50's, maybe 60. Today was about the same and I wore pants, long sleeves, pullover and vest. Shedded the vest around noon.

I'm out at Superstition Mountain at the girls tournament and even the team from Eastern Michigan is bundled up like they're back home. We-Ko-Pa is pretty exposed so dress warmly and take some off if you don't need it. Wind is up today making it feel really cold.

It's 49 degrees today and drizzled part of the morning. I hope Ag93 brought the winter gear. I played this morning but wish I hadn't.

Hey buddy don't feel sorry for me. I'll still be here next week when it's 87. I feel bad for the guy that's here today. I hope it went well. One of the group I was playing with was from North Dakota and he said F it and quit after 9 today.

Tough break on the weather. It's supposed to be back in the 70's and 80's by tomorrow and going forward. Hopefully winter is over. Spectacular views though at We-Ko-Pa.

Anywhere in the North Scottsdale area that is under $200 on a Saturday in early May worth checking out? Looks like Greyhawk is $300+

That's a hard number to hit at a higher end course on the weekend in early May. Personally I'd look at Sun Ridge Canyon in Fountain Hills or maybe one of the Wildfire courses at the JW at Desert Ridge.

Just got back from Phoenix yesterday after 4 rounds in 2.5 days.

Quintero - worst condition of any course. Bunkers are terrible, greens are beat up, fairways were pretty good. Definitely not worth the drive and the price right now. Was really disappointed as this was my most want to play course.

Gold canyon - Dinosaur - best conditions by far, fun track, quick round. Don't have a single negative. Greens were stupid fast as they said they were rolling at a 13.

Wekopa Cholla - decided to sneak this in last minute. Got twilight rates at 3 and finished just as the sunset. Incredible conditions, much easier than segura but still challenging and fun

Troon north monument - best greens of any of them, fast round early in the morning. Much better in March then when i played in September. Greens were hard but a bit slower than gold canyon and wekopa. Probably only rolling a 10 or 11.

If you take a junior, only quintero doesn't have junior rates which are half price.

You saw the snow on the mountains from We-Ko-Pa and Dinosaur Mountain I assume. I was out there Monday and even though it had been 75-80 the 3 days prior you could still see snow on Four Peaks.
