Been out of town.
How is it going, 30+ days in?
Hope the tropical storm doesn't set things back.

They sent out an update about 10 days ago. Some of the fairways are a long ways off from being close to ready but they have laid the grass for the new tee boxes. No timeline update regarding when any of it will be playable.

Platinum Paspalum is an excellent turfgrass for golf.
It is tolerant of high salt levels in irrigation water and the Brazos Valley groundwater sure qualifies as salty.
Paspalum grows roots extensively and it a very vigorous grass.
I would not characterize it as a slow grower - it is one of the best and fastest grasses to fill in a divot for example due to its rhizome growth.
Paspalum is starting to gain traction in the turfgrass world.
If you want more information, articles by Dr. Ron Duncan (inventor of the grass) and Tim Hiers are easy to search online.
I think it will be a game changer for Traditions if they maintain it properly.

I heard they are having troubles with the fairways and may have to redo them.
