Finally got selected for Monday after 15+ years of entering the lottery only to get here and find out it's delayed at best and cancelled completely at worst. Absolutely gutted.

Got just enough time to walk the back 9 (we were walking up 18 fairway as siren sounded). No time for merch and not able to see any of the front 9. Waiting in the car for a few hours now but doesn't look like we will be allowed back in today.
planning ahead for next year. My daughter will be living in Augusta going to Augusta University for grad school. What are the odds of hanging around in the afternoon and getting 2 or 3 badges from people leaving for the day? Will chances be better earlier in the week or later?

My understanding is you are basically SOL after 2 hours of them being open. Was 3 hrs 25 mins from the time they officially opened until the horn sounded.

It may not feel like it, but the Monday folks are fortunate. If the grounds are open for very long at all, they don't usually offer a make good ticket for next year. So while maybe you only got a brief taste today, if it was much more than that, good chance you'd be SOL.

I'm taking it as a win. We were super bummed to have the delay and then get kicked off early on our first visit ever after 20 years of lottery applications, but it's exciting that we get to come back next year. Makes the cancelled flights and 2+ hour drive from Charlotte worth it haha.

Agreed. I was very relieved. I only saw one player on back nine and coming in during weather alert I only saw one player coming from front nine. I think that played a huge role in their decision.
