You might be flipping the club with an early release. Increases loft, shortens distance, and a heavier clubhead like a wedge can be more prone to it
This was my thought
Also agree this is likely because I've just had it too, but I was intentionally trying to stop early upper body rotation so I was intentionally dropping my arms only down at the and through the ball while keeping shoulders closed to train a more in to out swing by keeping everything else from rotating. This resulted in very well struck but high iron shots that had plenty of distance but as you experienced it takes a lot of distance off the shortest clubs because that move becomes more of a flip with the shortest clubs.
Once I incorporated more of a "regular" rotation through the shot (but reset from the training to be a lot less aggressive and later) and shifting weight towards target the wedge distance returned and ball flight came down.
