Why do they make those poor guys play 3 rounds and then have a cut?

Because it's a pro am and they play three different courses. Everybody plays 1 round on each course with an am then a cut with only pros on the stadium course for the final round.

This tournament was the Bob Hope Classic played in Indian Wells years ago.
