Howdy, me and some buddies are planning on taking a boys trip in July since we haven't seen each other since college. I was curious if anyone has any experience golfing out near the west Denver area and what prices we could be looking at or what courses you would recommend?

Fossil Trace is a really cool course. Very unique.

fossil trace and arrowhead are on the higher end of public courses in west denver metro. fox hollow (canyon to meadow or vice versa is my preferred layout), homestead, or indian tree are also decent.

if you want to get some mountain golf in, pole creek and keystone river are great courses.

If you're staying in the metro area and not going up I70 the best three courses to play would be Fossil Trace, Arrowhead, and Bear Dance.

Those will all be $100+ rounds with Arrowhead and Bear Dance approaching $200 for prime tee times.

Cheaper alternatives that are good would be Fox Hollow, West Woods, and Legacy Ridge. Those three are municipal owned and sometimes difficult to snag tee times.

Common Ground in Aurora is a Tom Doak, affordable and a subsided caddie program. Not the dramatic topography but interesting design if you into architecture

You'll love golden. We did this exact trip two years ago. Such a great town with good food, great views and the golf was pretty good.
