Are they any public courses that are cheap and worth driving to from the heights area? It seems impossible to get a good tee time at hermann or memorial if you don't book 14 days in advance. Trying to get a tee time for tmrw (3/8).

Gus is awesome. If you're looking for cheap muni golf, Jersey Village is a great option to try out. They've been putting some work in for improvement out there plus a brand new clubhouse.

Y'all are saying Jersey Village but do you mean Jersey Meadow? If not, where is the Jersey Village muni?
They have come a long way over the last year or so, especially with maintaining the greens. One of the marshalls told me they hired a guy that used to work over at the golf clubs of houston, so maybe thats part of it. I play there once every two weeks or so, and the tee boxes are still the same. They need to address it.GoAgs92 said:
Played Battleground in October and it was mostly in good shape, although half the tee boxes were like concrete trying to get the tee in

Highland Pines - more expensive but actually worth it all the time
Eagle Pointe - most of the time
Cypresswood Traditions - most of the time
Tour 18 - sometimes
Dont pay for blackhorse - i am shocked how many folks are willing to pay for that.
Fun course. Bring your bug spray.Drparker said:

Were the tee boxes and some parts of the greens still St Augustine? Man I haven't played out there since I was a kid.JABQ04 said:
Pasadena Municipal off BW8 wasn't terrible, but that was back in July.
