Unfortunately he triple bogied his 17th hole before getting 2 back on the last. He's at -4 in the clubhouse.

Rory is so ****ing soft. If anything he is the one who needs to apologize for basically stealing his phone. Which I still don't understand why he took it to begin with? The phone didn't do anything to him.

Is there any clip of the audio? I still don't even know if he was truly heckling him or just made a comment and happened to be too close and rory heard it.

I agree if he was directing it at him so he could hear it's a dbag move but I can't find footage of the actual comment.

As for the kid form tu was probably there with special access from the PGA which means you really need to be on exemplary behavior not to mention your point which is also a good one that he makes tu golf look bad.

No idea if there is footage. It was a practice round so wouldn't be surprised if there's not. But the guy did apologize so . . .

Yeah he apologized because he immediately became the biggest story in golf and his coach told him to.

And here was his quote to golf channel:

"Look, I just made a mistake, and I take ownership for it. I apologize for it. That's about all that needs to be said. ... It's just a good learning experience. Yeah, I apologize."

He's not acknowledging he was heckling him.

Rory blew his drive right and the guy shouted something like "oh damn just like at Pinehurst" or something to that effect. I've heard worse.

I watched the video that went viral. It showed zero audio of the actual incident.

I read the article Kansas Kid posted.

Consuming those 2 items I viewed and read Rory's actions and the actions the kid and his coach responded with.

Based on that, I still have zero idea if he actually did something malicious or not.

My takeaway is even if he was heckling Rory like a dbag as if he were the bucket hat guy in Happy Gilmore, Rory overreacted at the very least. But we don't know what the kid did or didn't do.

My question became...given how nonchalant he appeared in the video when rory approached him (which began filming after the comment) , how blatant was this "heckle" and was it even something the kid wanted him to hear.

I was wondering if others on a golf discussion board had more evidence than I had consumed that could add more to the story.

I said above I thought it was Pinehurst but guess it was Augusta. I knew it was something like that but wasn't sure which tournament.

Pinehurst he blew it with 2 missed short putts. That would be a weird reference for a tee shot.

Also impressed how much Jake Knapp is a consistent contender. When he won as a former bouncer a couple years ago, I figured he'd be a feel good story for a little while but would then lose his card and disappear. He's a legit pro.
