Scarlett with a +3 on the day and a total of +1, finished at T25.

Tough round but she DID make the cut and I sure am looking forward to her wearing maroon and white !!

I was at the Augusta Women's Amateur today. First time to ANGC and went with my brother dad and uncle as a guys trip. I highly recommend if you have never been to Augusta. Crowds were a fraction of the Masters. After being there early we watched the first few groups tee off before seeing Scarlett and Galitsky and decided to just walk the course with them. Walked every hole til 12 then decided to camp at Amens corner bleachers for a few groups. Grabbed lunch then went to grandstand by 15 and 16 for a while before walking 17 and 18 to the finish. Then dumping some money at the pro shop. Walking the course we were on the rope all day with unobstructed views. Crowds were a fraction of what I am used to seeing on tv for the masters. Just a great experience if you actually want to walk and see the course.

Scarlett did great but was scrambling all day missing fairways. I was really impressed with Galitsky. She went -5 on the front and finished at 66 for low round. She was smoking the ball all day 300+ down the middle and every approach shot was perfect leaving herself an uphill birdie putt. Really high shot trajectory too. Looked more like a pro guys shot. She is only 18 and a freshman at South Carolina. Met her parents walking with the group too. Super nice.

Thanks for the report on your experience! Great to be able to see it all without the huge crowds.

How did you get tickets through the event or where?

Does the pro shop have all the usual Masters gear for sale?

Sell beer?

1. They do a lottery just like The Masters. Pretty sure that getting tickets to the first two rounds is easy and maybe even free.

2. Yes. However when I went a couple years ago only one of the two big shops was open and there were a TON of people in there. There were some rain delays where they had everyone leave for a few hours so maybe that made it worse, but there was never a time of day I checked it out when it wasn't a 30 minute wait to get in. If I was doing it again, I would make a huge effort to be among the very first on the property and knock it out immediately.

3. Yes, concessions are all the same as The Masters.

The Masters is amazing and the energy and the roars coming from everywhere and not knowing what's going on because you don't have your phone is incredible. One of the coolest experiences I've ever had watching sports. But when it comes to walking the property and seeing the course, ANWA is better and it's not close.

If you offered me ANWA tickets or Masters practice round tickets, I would take the ANWA with zero hesitation.

Bagger answered most of your questions above. My dad applied to the lottery for ANWA and got four tickets. Price is $100 each. It's a separate lottery from the masters so you can apply to both.

We opted not to shop first as everyone ran there to get in line which was probably an hour plus long. Instead we went to take our pic at founders circle (no line) then get to first tee before the first group teed off at 7:40. We went to pro shop around 2pm with maybe last 5-6 groups still on the course. Line was only around 15-20 min to get in. All the masters gears fully stocked so no issue getting what we wanted. Then we just headed to the car with our bags. Didn't have to check our gear and stand in line to get it later.

Thanks for the info. Will look into going next year unless we get Masters tickets
