Pine Needles today

Great lay out, really enjoyed the course

Greens were pretty slow but if they get the greens going that course would be crazy hard

Didn't take as many pictures as I wanted but we were in carts

It's the only course they could get us on instead.
They are having the local US Open qualifier there that morning, so it might not be too fun playing those conditions...

Pinewild this morning
Private country club

Cool layout, greens still kinda slow
Lots of undulating fairways and some pretty big drops elevation drops from tee to fairway

Southern Pines this afternoon

Great course, great lay out, lots of elevation change, greens kinda slow but this one and Tobacco Road are my two favorite so far.

Tomorrow is #4 and #9

Finally getting to play there the day before the PGA Championship in Charlotte! I love our town!

If you get a chance and the weathers nice, Reds Corner is a good time. Sly Fox and Chapmans are other good spots.

#4 layout was awesome

Greens were rough, some areas had no grass. As yall saw earlier they will close on the 19th. They gave us each $200 gift cards. I will come back to play #4.

It's more like a country club course
Only Pinehurst course with bent grass greens

Our caddy here was awesome, I requested him for every round after this one. Best caddy I've ever had.

Really fun course

I'm not a huge Doak fan.....he tends to mess up good holes with extra tricked up greens. He did the same here on #10 and it's the only complaint I have on #10.

We hauled from #10 straight to #3

It's a shorter course and great for an afternoon shot. Par 68 I think

Wow
I wasn't sure if it was gonna be overrated or not. It's not. Its incredible. If you get out of position you are screwed. If you are short sided, you can make triple real quick. If you get into the "wrong" bunker based on where the pin is, it can be borderline impossible to get up and down. You just HAVE to play smart golf with well struck shots. I loved it.

8 was good too...another good country club course. Lots of elevation change. Long par 3s and a some long par 4s

1- #2
2- #4 (if they had good greens)
3- Tobacco Road
4- Southern Pines
5- #10 (if a few of the greens were toned down it would be #3)
6- Pineneedles
7- #8
8- #9
9- Pinewild
10- #3 (it's a short old school course)


Rankings are up for discussion, tough to rank spots 3-5

#4 looks BIG LEAGUE… not sure if I was expecting that. Stinks about the greens, but at least they're doing something drastic to address it.

I actually prefer 4 to 2. Very tough course in its own right
