Torque balanced putter.

I got that putting mat with airbags for fathers day last year. I set up 3 gates for ten foot putts that I lasered and leveled straight. My putter at the time I thought was good, but I couldn't get 3 in a row through those gates and into the hole no matter how hard I tried.

I went through a dozen+ putters, and ended up with the lab blade. I got 7 in a row on my first try. I did eventually move to the bettinardi blade version because I like the alignment line on that more, but I have never putted like this in my life. Any uphill putt without a ton of break, I just play center cup and hit it firm. I feel so confident I'm going to hit my line, that I'm making way more putts.

Other than that, I did just move to the g430 LST after a long time with a paradym TD. I can't believe how often I get 1.5 smash on it, and just no where near a center strike. Hope it translates to the course, but I need a little lower spinning shaft to get the same distance numbers as the paradym. Just hope that doesn't ruin the forgiveness.

Ping G430 7 wood. Replaced hybrid about a year ago with one and it's been money into par 5s. Set up 2 eagles with it in the 2 rounds I played this weekend. I considered it an old man club forever, then started realizing how many pros are carrying one now. And I'm an old man now anyway.

Mizuno 4Hybrid. As I've gotten older, gap between 3W and 4i has been growing, this has solved that.

Ai Smoke 4 Hybrid. You would think it came from next door to a liquor store and a gas station with how often it bails me out.

Ping 1-A Putter. I don't putt any better with it, but it's a funny sound and get's the old guys reminiscing on the practice green.

Getting fit for mizuno pro 245's. Gained about 30 yards on my irons, turns out hitting shorter irons in makes the game a little (just a little) easier

I just purchased the Mizuno Pro T-1 wedges (56 and 60) and they are phenomenal. I loved my Vokeys, but these are definitely working better for me.

For me it wasn't necessarily a club, but I finally found an iron shaft, the PX LS 6.5/7.0, that works with my swing and a driver shaft that hits more fairways, TPT Nitro, because the shafts work with different club heads and iron manufacturers. Now, I am testing different iron heads to zone in on optimal dispersion, yardages, and forgiveness.

Callaway 7wood has been great. Like it much more than my old 3 hybrid. Also currently experimenting with a 9wood to replace my strong lofted p790 5iron.

A Titleist TSR2 driver and a TSR2 4 wood. Added about 10 yards and it feels point and shoot

Driver: I replaced my previous driver (Cobra F-Max Offset 11.5*) with a gently used Ping 410 LST 9* from a friend who didn't like it. Took a few rounds and range sessions to dial it in, and now I'm averaging 14-18 yards more over my last ten rounds. Bought it for $40.

3 hybrid: I was fitted into JPX 923 irons last year with an ST-Max 25* hybrid that was like hitting butter. So easy. I decided to try the matching 19* hybrid, and found a "like new" one on 2ndswing for about $170. I have it set at 16.75*.

These two have given me the ability to attack long par 4s and 5s with confidence. Best $210 I've ever spent on golf.

Not recent, but a handful of years ago at the Open some guys bagged a TM P790 2 iron. I replaced a 5w i never used and the 2i has been one of my favorite clubs since.

Just put a 5w regular flex in the bag. It launches so much higher than a 3h but carries about the same so it can land softer. Mi****s are way more predictable too. Played one round with it (only had to use it two or three times) and already love it.

I love my TM P790 2i! On windy days, it's my weapon against the wind. On days my driver is all over the place, it's my go-to driving iron.

Last spring I had a fitting and l bought a new set of irons. Right now my game is worse than ever! I'm beginning to think it wasn't the clubs. Or, and I'm just spitballin here, maybe it's the driver!

I did a TaylorMade iron fitting today and it was pretty eye-opening. It seems there have been some technological advances in the last 30 years since I bought my used Tommy Armour 845s.

I was hitting more flush shots while the mi****s seemed to perform better.

I settled on the P790s with Nippon NS Modus Tour 105/S shaft that is a half inch longer than standard.

Also getting the driving iron. P-UDI 2 iron with a UST Recoil Dart 105/F5 shaft.

Still getting used to the idea that these cost 10 times what I paid for the 845s back in the day.

60 degree

If you don't have one just get one and force yourself to learn how to hit every shot around the greens. Choke up on it, front or back of stance, crowd the ball with heel up and weight forward and get after it. It's really fun. Wish I had embraced this club 20 years ago.

Only wedge I hit within 65-70, unless I have a long uphill chip and then use my PW to run it up.
