What do you get the golfer that already has everything golf?

They actually taste really good and made by a guy in DFW. They have a coating on them that eventually wears off then you can use them as a tee. Just a little something fun and obviously not a serious gift.

Now for a serious response...

Does he smoke cigars when he plays? Good cigar with a nice lighter or cigar case or something of that nature.

A nice custom personalized scorecard book would be cool. There's a couple threads on here somewhere of places to get those.

Personalized valuables bag that he can keep his wallet, keys, phone in while he plays

thanks for the replies. to answer a few questions...

budget....this is tough b/c if I get him something individually I would say up to $250. But our group at work has been together for at least 18 years and some of the guys longer so we might do a group thing. So I'd say top end call it $1,000

no he doesn't smoke.

I did think about a few dozen personalized pro v1's would be an easy, safe choice

What's the budget?

My gift I got that was most memorable to me was a box of Pro V1's which were logo'd "World's Best Boss". I have that box on my desk to this day.

not sure where you're located but for 1K yall could get him a weekend away/green fees at a resort somewhere.

Maybe some sort of gift card with a golf booking agent, so he can get a round at one of the bucket list courses, but yall aren't choosing the date or location for him. Not even sure if this exists, but I bet something could be worked out.

Get him a few logs of Zyn. Most important part of my game is having a Zyn pouch in my mouth for the whole round.

A) Figure out where he buys his clubs from and get him a gift card or certificate if he is changing them out that often

B) Gift Certificate to premier courses in your area or not too far of a drive away

Golf gifts are tough because everything is incredibly personal. Unless you are 100% confident and know something specific, I'd stay away from anything he uses on a regular basis. He either already has it or has a strong preference. This even applies to the #1 ball in golf.

Gifts for successful people are hard because the goal should be to find something they wouldn't buy for themself. The problem is they've already purchased most of it.

Balls - if he changes clubs every two years, he's likely picky about his golf ball. What if he just switched to the AVX at his last fitting due to a drop in swing speed? Best case, he does play the Pro V1, but it's already something he has and buys for himself. Balls can be expensive, but are still disposable. This may be an unpopular opinion but balls may not be as safe as you think (coming from the benefactor of a father-in-law who doesn't play the pro v1).

Bag - no. Most avid golfers have the bag they want or know which one they want next. Or have the bag they want, but already have their eye on another at the same time.

Range finder - already has it or knows what he wants if he needs a replacement.

Bluetooth Speaker - has it or hates music on the course.

Clubs - absolutely not. Even the gift card, he's already proven he doesn't hesitate to spend that money on himself. If he buys from his club, don't buy him a gift card to his own club!

Gift cards to local courses - is he a member of a club? If so, he probably rarely ventures elsewhere because of pace of play and his regular games.

Custom scorecard holder - this could be gold. Something not often used, but when he does it brings back good memories of the people who gave it to him. Would likely keep a long time.

Travel bag - club glove or sun mountain club glider. All depends on if he plans to travel AND the condition of his current one. As with the scorecard holder, he'd likely keep it a long time. You've worked with him for 18 years, is it possible to get intel from his wife?

Other option is to avoid golf all together. What's his drink of choice? Don't get the drink, get the whisky or wine decanter and glasses he'll use for a long time.

For the golfer who has it all, I'd consider a personalized gift for sure. Maybe a great big canvas print of his favorite course or a memorable golf trip photo. It's thoughtful, unique, and something he wouldn't buy himself. Could also go with a round at a bucket-list course or a framed scorecard.
