Sorry to hear that OP, I know the feeling. I was 1 under going into 18 one time and ended up getting a triple on that hole. It happens.

2 par fives left and took + numbers on them.......that had to be a gut punch. You would expect to play those at least level.

So what happened on 12 thru 18? Did you lose focus? Too many cold pops?

I think we've all been there before. I had a similar round in late fall. Very frustrating. So I went back to shooting mid-80s. No more gut punches. I know who I am, how I play golf. Just take my 85 and be happy.

Well on Hole 12 I thought I hit a great approach shot but carried one yard too far over the green. Took two shots to get on the green as it's a sharp turtle back green there.

Hole 16 (par 5) is where I gave it all up. Hit a perfect, wind aided drive 310 down the middle. Had 176 to the flag that was in the front of the green but the shot was over water. It's down wind so I figured it played 166. I pulled out a 7 iron to play middle green past the flag to be safe. Worst shot of the day, hit it very thin and blocked it right further into the water. Took a drop where it crossed. Put it to 15 feet and 3 putted. That's where I lost it. I 3 putted 18 to top it off.

14 at Memo is a par 5 now?

Yea 13 they shortened to a driveable par 4 from a par 5 and the made 14 into a deceptively tough par 5.

I knew they shortened 13. 14 looks basically the same as it used to. I've only been there for the Houston Open where they play it as a 490ish par 4. Didn't realize it was still par 72 for us regulars. I thought the only par 5 on the back now was 16, but apparently that's just for the Houston Open.

I feel your pain! So frustrating to have a mid iron in on a par 5 and miss-hit it. I shot 39 on the back 9 today at my local club course. Paired it with a 48 front 9 for a solid 87. LOL

Golf God's missed your tee time…. 1 of them saw you on the back 9. They had a quick voodoo session and you were toast.

34, 43. Happens a lot.

I've never played the course but looking at that scorecard, let's make more courses with 5 par 5s and 5 par 3s. I love that.

You started thinking about it, therefor your brain sends signals to your body to "not make a mistake". Next time just play golf and count it up when you're done. I shot a 65 once and had no idea where I was sitting until my buddy said you have a short birdie putt here on 18 for 64 and I freaking missed it.
