Any suggestions for a Baton Rouge? I'll be there for a week here pretty soon with afternoons and evenings free and would like to get at least one round in while I'm there.
Public BREC courses are easy to get on in the afternoons and all worth a round. You can do your tee times on GolfNow for all of them. I lived on Santa Maria for a while and it's a fun course. If you don't mind the drive, I highly recommend Beaver Creek too. SM is the BREC flagship course, but conditions at Beaver Creek are often a little better. Webb is a typical older muni course; the local nickname is "Webble Beach". I would also recommend playing City Park. The course was built in 1922 and is a shorter 9 hole course. Hole #7 is a deceptively hard par 4, so be careful with your tee and approach shots.JABQ04 said:
