I have a friend who is just taking up golf and might want to play when we go to Vegas. I don't want to take him to a course where he'll lose 50 balls in the water or hit a bunch of houses or constantly need to hit it 150 in the air just to reach a fairway. Any ideas for a course that's fairly wide open and forgiving without a lot of forced carries? I've played a lot of golf in Vegas but not as much in recent years so my memory is failing me.

Bali Hai fits the bill. Great place to make you feel good about your game. Everything slopes to the middle of the fairway.

Agree on Bali Hai. Add a parmate to the group and he will be hooked !

Wherever you go, just play up two tee boxes. Short courses are easiest!

My recommendation will be Angel Park. Cheaper on the wallet, short Uber from the Strip.
