Hey guys, I'm on a journey to play every course in the city of Dallas. I have played just about every public course now (still trying to get on at Stevens Park).

I would love to play some of the private courses. If anyone has any connections to Northwoods, Prestonwood, or Preston Trail I would greatly appreciate it.

No Brook Hollow or Dallas CC…?

If you want to play trinity forest, you can buy a golfers journal sub and get in on the event there in 2 weeks. Sounds like they are some openings. $700 after the subscription though

I had the thought to do something similar in the Houston area, but haven't gotten started. The suggestions above about auctions and golf societies are great.

Are you keeping a ball marker, ball or hat from each course?

Definitely a ball and polo. I take a look at the hats but as a bald man, I am picky about my hats.

DAC and any of the old Dallas clubs (Brook Hollow, DCC, Northwood, Royal Oaks), and even Dallas National, will be more attainable than Preston Trail.

It's last for me, too (haven't played DAC, but that one will be easier if I ever really want to play it). I was invited to play PT two years ago and had to cancel last minute because of a fire drill at work... major regret. Hoping to get re-invited at some point.

PT is a great club with a pretty good, very well maintained course.

Have you done the courses on the FW side as well? My list of greater DFW courses is at 78 public courses and I've only played 18 of them.

I'm at 60 of the 82 I could find public in the Metroplex, with ROCC, DAC, DCC, BH, D Nat, Brookhaven, Lakewood knocked out as well. I also made reviews of each course. Struggling to finish up now, as my new role has me in office until 9 most nights, and most of the remaining courses are in Ft. Worth, with me being in Dallas proper

Thats awesome- do you have a blog or YT channel with your course reviews?

I'd love to do something like that for courses in the greater Houston area.

I miss Stevens Park, played that one a few times when I lived in the area. Seems like its popularity has risen quite a bit over the last handful of years.

Stevens became wildly overplayed when the Covid golf wave hit, and they also stopped caring about maintenance. The greens are now covered in sand patches and it seems like they just don't like watering the course in general. Went from being my favorite Dallas muni to one I avoid entirely, really unfortunate.

That sucks to hear. That place was a hidden gem I feel like at one point.
