The punishment he received was far too much for his crime.

Cool story…Served him one time at Del Frisco's back in the late 80's.

Did he ever come out and say the mia culpa and all that? I remember a kinda sorta sorry, but not a big thing. Or did he just say 'F em if they can't take a joke' and fade into obscurity?

I can't remember if there was a big formal apology but I do remember Tiger not responding for a week or two while Fuzzy twisted and the whole media world blew up.

Tiger didn't respond for 2 weeks (probably driven by his dad Earl) which increased the focus and weight of fuzzys comments.

Fuzzy wasn't the same and spent the rest of his life apologizing…. But the golf world never let it go. Look at the espn article on his passing. It's more about the incident than his life.
Im a big fan of tiger, but he could have been more of a forgiveness guy.
Fuzzys personality was perfect for numerous off the course TV entertainment gigs but he didn't get the chance. He was stained for the rest of his life.
He made a stupid comment that unfortunately became his brand.

Just my 2 cents….

Tiger didn't owe Fuzzy anything. He publicly accepted Fuzzy's apology and said that Fuzzy didn't meant any ill-will. That should be enough.

What more did you expect Tiger to do? Parade Fuzzy out on camera and act like they're all buddy-buddy?
