Planning our annual 32 man Ryder Cup and Tapatio Springs is on the Radar. We are a bunch of Dallas boys so the hill country is appealing.

Looking at going last weekend of September, yes I know it will be hot.

Does anyone frequent this course or visited lately? We aren't overly picky on accommodations but do expect course to be in good shape.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Haven't played there in a while, but the rooms are pretty dated. Decent pool area and F&B is average around the property.

If you want a give Horseshoe Bay Resort a try, I can make sure you get a good deal. Tons to do here and we have 3 courses, plus our 18 hole putting course (real bent grass and lit up at night). Plus the lake, sports bar for football, Ford Bronco Off Roading, etc.

Update on Tapatio, we will not be going. The food prices are astronomical, $49 for a boxed turkey Sandwich.

Where are you seeing that for food pricing? Not saying your wrong... but I just went and looked on the website. The Cascada which is the one the main restaurant overlooking the course has their menu and pricing online. Things like burgers for $22, pizzas for $16-20. Brisket sandwich for $23.

You can do better than Tapatio for golf in the SA area

Where all have y'all been before? Might help to understand what you're looking for.

We actually did the hideout last year. We had a blast but course was pretty beat up, really just the fairways.

We have been all over. Pine dunes, white bluff, links at lands end, tangle wood, tannenbaum, sangri las in Oklahoma, Black Bear in Louisiana and Rayburn.

This year we are looking at somewhere in hill country or Hot Spring village in Arkansas.

Pretty cool deal, my dad (class of 87) and his longtime buddy ( bama grad) started this thing 23 years ago, we do a Ryder cup style and have grown to about 32 guys.

I love it. I think some of the rave reviews are from people who played it before and after the renovation, but it's a really nice course. Greens are great minus the constant presence of deer tracks.

would the flying L be a good spot for a little family long weekend in the summer? Never heard of this place, but it seems okay with stuff to do?
