I'm starting to think I'm going crazy.
From 1998 to 2002, I distinctly remember there being a wooded 9-hole par 3 course in College Station off of Hwy 6 that I used to go to from time to time.

Google, and other various sources can't find any reference to it, and now I'm starting to think I just imagined the place and hallucinated the memories.

This. It was lit, too…unless I'm hallucinating.

greensworld was AWESOME! An absolute craphole of a course that had carts that barely worked and were cobbled together just enough to sometimes make it all the way around the track. It's where I first started "playing" golf having little idea how to actually play, which really boiled down to us each bringing our own case of beer (they didn't care what you brought to the course) and doing our best to house it before we were done. good times back then at that place in the 90s.

One hole was right next to the bayou. I walked right by the path to the teebox and was up by the womens tee before I realized it. I was by myself and said screw walking back, I'll just play from the womens. Anyway, proceeded to hit it to inside a foot. Probably the closest I have ever been to an ace. Figured it would be my luck to hit an ace A) with no witnesses and B) from the womens. But, not to be. Still waiting on that ace.

I used to go there with an 8 iron and a sleeve of balls. It was owned by Red Scarmardo

Ah, yes...Greensworld. I worked there for a hot minute back in the '98 timeframe. The only job I've ever walked away from without worrying about getting my last paycheck. The work was easy but man what a trainwreck. One of my coworkers was a full time(?) employee and he would bring his dates there after hours to shoot at fish off the bridge with a 22 they left in the office. Hope that isn't any of you...

I recall playing a 9-hole lighted course several times at night. I think they rented glow-in-the-dark balls (or you could bring your own) if you wanted to use them. This might have been the same course. It was much more enjoyable playing after the sun went down because it was cooler. Have not thought about that in years!

I grew up in College Station and played on the golf team at Consol. We played Greensworld all the time in junior high. It was quite the disaster to let loose a couple dozen 13 year olds out there unsupervised.
I once hit a cow to the left on #2 and got into a fight with a teammate on the #7 green. Also, I drove a golf cart into the rental car of a new A&M men's assistant basketball coach. I think it was during the Kermit Davis era, my mom was not impressed.
We would also hit balls at the movie theater from the #5 tee box. I was quite the menace.
It was the probably worst course I've ever played but also lots of fun.

I took a golf class in i think 1999 and needed it to graduate. We went there once or twice for class during the day in the middle of the school week. There and a range on West Campus somewhere and the A&M golf course.

The range on west campus was where the intramural fields currently are. I worked there too (actually worked at the campus course but you had to occasionally pull shifts at the driving range). It was hardly ever busy outside of classes held there, so I hit a ton of balls to pass the time. The range picker was notoriously terrible and on more than one instance I got stuck in the middle of the range with people hitting at me.
