BIRMINGHAM Texas A&M's Vanessa Borovilos (SO) was named SEC Golfer of the Week by the league office Wednesday after her individual championship at the Moon Golf Invitational.
The Canadian won the Moon Golf Invitational by four shots with a score of 7-under 209. It was the first victory of her sophomore campaign and the second of her career. Additionally, the golfer of the week nod is her second from the SEC during her two seasons of collegiate golf.
Borovilos's performance vaulted the Aggies into the No. 4 spot in the country in the latest Scoreboard Team Rankings. Borovilos is also ranked No. 10 on the individual scoreboard rankings.
The preseason All-American was named to the ANNIKA Award Final Fall Watch List for her performance to start the season where she helped lead the team to four tournament victories.
The Aggies finished runner-up at the Moon Golf Invitational and will return to the course March 9-10 at the GameAbove Invitational in Rolling Hills Estates.
