Any good ones?

This is houston so 95 and humidity is just how it is.

Recently diagnosed with a very tiny bit of melanoma (Stage 0, didn't even know there was a stage zero) so staying out of the sun is what it is.

There are a bunch of "light" joggers I have bought if that's your style. If not, Callaway clothing actually makes a UV50 set of pants that's reasonably priced and good quality.

Couple that with solar sleeves/solar hoodie, and you're good to go. Don't forget the hat and sunscreen on the neck up!

stage 3 melanoma survivor here. As much as I should wear pants golfing in the summer I just cant. Too ****ing hot. Sunscreen and arm sleeves are your friends.

What's your size?

There is a premium Italian fabric that is best in class for this.

Here's a link to the UA vented, breathable golf pants that I use during competition. Very, lightweight and offer stretch ability. Wrinkle resistant for the most part, just don't dry them on the high setting! Made that mistake once, lol

I'll wear arm sleeves during the summer when I golf (also great for riding a bike) similar to those sleeves that basketball players wear, I prefer this over sunscreen. Arms stay cool, and it's comfortable enough. I'm sure there are similar leg sleeves for legs you can throw on under shorts.

I would suggest arm and leg sleeves over pants.

I have a few pairs of Adidas pants I have bought from PGA Superstore & Amazon. They are super thin.. I don't wear pants in the Summer but, if I had to, it'd be those.

Squamous Cell x1 and Basil Cell x2 here. Thankfully no Melanoma at this point. Understand your efforts OP.

While I can entertain the sleeves, I could not do pants. However, I am diligent on SPF 50+, with multiple applications during the day as needed. Thankfully, no issues with legs and the skin cancer. All on the head and one on arm. But I am sure Melanoma can change that outlook if encountered.

Since there are many "little places" on your head to miss with the sunblock, consider an Aussie Style bucket hat to go with the sunblock. It took me a little getting used to, but this style hat is working its way into the lineup, with sunblock as well.
"Green" is the new RED.

Don't mess with melanoma. Been there and doing my best not to go back. I have a closet full of lightweight, sun protection shirts and wear them year round, even summer in Phoenix. On the rare occasions I wear a traditional polo I always wear sleeves.

People might think I'm a vampire with how I dress on the golf course, but I don't care; not trying to make a fashion statement. Wide brim golf hat, UV sleeves, sunglasses, lightweight golf pants (Callaway are pretty breathable). Never feel too hot, but I always seek shade when available, and I drink a lot fluids.

I have these and they are very light, and they also provide 50+ UPF.

I couldn't do it, but if I had to I would probably go with Lululemon ABC joggers or something similar. The material is ultra light. Pick a color that isn't black.

Need Recs for the arm and leg sleeves?

Most I have tried are too tight and uncomfortable. Willing to spend on some good ones.

Also, assume you wash after every few wears?

Howdy GoAgs,

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I actually went shopping last night at Academy here in B/CS for a pair of golf pants and shorts.

Not a great selection in the way of golf apparel but the brand BCG they carry are really nice!
- Pants: $40.00
- Shorts: $30.00

- 97% Polyester & 3% Spandex

They aren't pleated either thank goodness and they have a nice grip inside the waist band. Check them out, I highly recommend for the price. Best of luck!

So, I have had Skin Cancer on my Face and head. So here a few recommendations that work for me.

Hat- I wear a Tilley hat - you can wash it roll it up and it just keeps coming back. Keeps the sun off my head, face and neck. YEs, I still we are sunscreen!!!!

Arms - Sometimes a wear a base layer shirt - Dunning has a great one, you can also find them at Coolibar an Solibar all are UPF 50+. I have also added some compression sleeves since the other sleeves I tried continued to fall down as I played. The brand I use ARMORAY. You can find them on Amazon for as low as $10 and they work great. I was introduced to them by a guy who has also has skin cancer and he swears buy them. He is also a +2 golfer and he plays 5 days a week. He always has them on!!

Pants - I was wearing Adidas 360. They are light weight and work pretty well. I bought a pair other the Dunning golf pants that I like as well. I don't think they are to bad but I do ride.

I do wear shorts sometimes when I. practice but I alway apply sunscreen!!!

It is working since my Dermatologist continues to tell me everything he finds pre-cancerous is old stuff when I was younger!!!

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks, about to start a course of chemo cream on my face, which is always a treat looking like a goblin for a month, but beats the alternative.

I got diagnosed with melanoma on my scalp in late 2024 (the lady that cuts my hair found it). One surgery to remove a coke can size piece of scalp, one surgery to reconstruct the hole with a flap made from the rest of my scalp. Not a lof of fun but was lucky that mine was caught early (Stage 1) so once i recovered from surgery i've been good to go with just regular 6 month PET scans/Oncology visits and 3 month dermatology appointments.

Now, to your question. I wear Lululemon ABC pants pretty much daily, they are a little expensive but they are so comfortable i find myself lounging around the house in them. During the heat of the summer i still wear shorts often but use ELTA MD mineral sunscreen (get it from your dermatologist) and reapply at the turn.

If i'm going to be outside for more than about 30 minutes i just about always wear either a Kuhl Engineered Hoodie or Lululemon license to train hoodie. Since my diagnosis i've probably only played one or two rounds in a collared shirt, i pretty much play exclusively in a UPF hoodie and wear the hood for the entire round to keep the sun off my ears and neck. To my surprise i've not received any dress code comments despite playing at a mix of public, private and high-end exclusive private courses.

My buddies now refer to me as the Uni-bomber for my hood and sunglass look so i've got that going for me.

Hope that helps, hang in there!

interesting that you don't get dress code issues

Yep, no issues at all. I looked back at my GHIN from last year and I counted 10 different courses that I played, I wore UPF hoodies at all of them except at Shady Oaks in Fort Worth because it's pretty traditional/old school and I felt collared was more of the vibe. But, I wore a upf hoodie at BlueJack National down in Houston and El Dorado in Cabo with no issues whatsoever.
