Anyone else have the golf membership here or play here often. I recently bought the monthly membership and looking for some more people to play with. My work schedule is very flexible and looking to play couple times a week.

Do you mind sharing details on the membership? I'm trying to get back to playing more golf and have always enjoyed playing out there.

I did the weekday premier. The cost is about $260 per month and that includes green fees, cart fees, and range balls everyday and on the weekend after noon. No initiation fee. They also have weekly player development goroup type lessons that is included. I'm not nowhere near a pro golfer.. easily bogey golfer at best. Just trying to improve myself which is why I bought the membership.

I don't live far from the course and would be interested in a Texags tee time.

I'm not sure that I'm ready to commit to the membership yet, but I'm definitely interested in a texags tee time as well.

I visit family in Montgomery a couple times a year and we usually play High Meadow Ranch. How does Windrose compare?

TIA

It doesn't.

It's night/day. Windrose is a run of the mill subdivision course. The layout is decent with some interesting holes. But High Meadow has some legit terrain, and there really isn't any of that at Windrose.

I can't speak for the current condition of Windrose, because I haven't played there in 15 years. It was in just "OK" shape back then, but again, it's been 15 years. High Meadow was in pretty solid condition a few weeks ago.

If you're going to drive to Windrose from Montgomery, you should drive the extra 15 minutes and play Highland Pines off 99 East of Spring. It's $$, but it's a real treat. GREAT condition, terrain, and some really interesting holes.

Also, what kind of shape is Windrose in these days?

Correct you cannot compare windrose to high meadow. I joined at windrose for a cheap close option to improve on my golf game. $250 a month for all you wish to play including cart, green fees, and range balls. The condition of the course is fine for what you are paying for.

When I played HMR last summer it was in the best shape I'd ever seen it in the last few years. Then around Christmas, it was still in great shape considering time of year, but the greens were completely hammered with ball marks. Was CB not that way in summer. WTH folks? It's like nobody bent over. We had to fix marks just to putt in some cases.

HMR needs to clamp down and get that in check.
