A lot of great competition in this tournament. Will be a great test for the team. Cayetana, Vanessa and Sky were on the team when we played the course in Oct 2024. Cayetana won the tournament with a -4, the Ags finished in 2nd behind Wake Forest, only two strokes off the lead. All final team scores were over par. Wake Forest won with a +5.

A few other teams had a problem on #11 but we had the most problem. Sure will be interesting to see how we do on the next two rounds on that hole!

No team under par at this time. Ags still in striking distance of the lead. We can do it !!

FORT WORTH -- The No. 3 Texas A&M women's golf team found itself in a tie for fifth after 36 holes Monday at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate and Colonial Country Club.

"We weren't able to score very well with our putters, but the golf course is so demanding," Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "We were pretty clean most of the round. We made some big numbers at 11 this morning and that made our total score look worse than it was. Every team is above par after two rounds, so when we get opportunities on this course, we have to take advantage of them. This group is more than capable, and we have a chance tomorrow. In team golf, anything can happen."

The Aggies were 15-over par after two rounds and were behind top teams in the country No. 1 Stanford (+2), No. 5 Texas (+9), No. 11 Duke (+11) and No. 7 Oregon (+13). Texas A&M was tied with No. 31 Oklahoma State and No. 9 Wake Forest and held leads over top 20 programs in No. 16 Mississippi State (+22) and No. 6 Auburn (+27).

No team was under par as a group heading into the final round at the prestigious Colonial Country Club. The Maroon & White fired a 288 in the first round and followed that up with a 287 immediately after to wrap up the day at the par-70 course.

Vanessa Borovilos paced the Aggies by going 1-over 141 and taking a piece of sixth place with her into Tuesday. The sophomore carded a double bogey on No. 11 in the first round but followed that up with four-straight birdies to right the ship.

Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio was tied for 11th after shooting 3-over 143 and freshman Natalie Yen was also in the top 20, placing tied for 20th at 5-over 145. Brynn Kort recorded a 3-over 73 in both rounds to put her in a dead heat for 27th.

Sky Sudberry rounded out the lineup tied for 54th and Louise Reau, competing as an individual, was in solo 14th after a steady 4-over 144 day.

The Aggies tee off at 8:50 a.m. from No. 1 Tuesday to begin the final round. Live stats for the event can be found here:

Women's Golf Finishes Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate in Sixth

FORT WORTH --The No. 3 Texas A&M women's golf team finished the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate in sixth place Tuesday at the Colonial Country Club.

"Its still March but we have to learn from this because we do not want this to happen in April or May," Head Coach Gerrod Chadwell said. "We did some good stuff but we need to clean up a lot of mistakes in order for this team to achieve what they are capable of. It is a privilege that we still have the time to work on things and we will do just that. Next time out we will be at Traditions at the Mo, so we are very excited to get to play at home in April."

No. 1 Stanford (+8) won the tournament followed by No. 7 Oregon (+11), No. 11 Duke (+19), No. 9 Wake Forest (+19) and No. 5 Texas (+20). Texas A&M (+24) defeated the rest of the field, including No. 16 Mississippi State (+35) and No. 6 Auburn (+36).

The Aggies were led by Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio who shot an even-par 70 in the final round to secure a tied-for-ninth finish. The junior went 3-over 213 for the tournament and recorded her fifth top 10 performance of the year.

Vanessa Borovilos took home a share of 17th with a 5-over 215. The trio of Sky Sudberry, Brynn Kort and Natalie Yen all tied for 32nd at 10-over 220. Louise Reau finished with a piece of 27th, while competing as an individual.

Texas A&M returns to the course at the 22nd installment of the "Mo" Morial Invitational April 6-8 at its home course of Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. Admission is free and the team will host a viewing party on Wednesday, April 8, near No. 18 green as teams finish.
