most unmemorable round you might play.

I have not played since the rebuild but it was just a bad layout in my opinion. There are a couple of fun holes, but meh.

25 million dollar redo.

Originally an uninspiring layout.

Now has spectacular turf and plenty of the weak holes have been significantly improved.

Worth a look - this renovation should be MUCH better than the original.

Wow. A TPC course that hosts a PGA event will be the most unmemorable round I might play?

Now Im intrigued

We're playing it for the $40 play away rate so nothing much at risk.

Is there anything else out there? Par 3 course putting course etc?

Agree with the others. You should go ahead and enjoy the round but it's one of the more overrated courses around. It gets buzz because of TPC and because salesmanship club had no options after trinity forest to host the Nelson.

But you will have fun. Redo is an improvement.

I played it last week and I don't know if I just have a bad memory but not very many of the holes stick out to me. They're currently re-sodding all the bunker surrounds but other than that conditioning was a+. Enjoy the zoysia. The greens were PURE.

They have a putting course on the putting green by the range but not much else.

Had a wild day with 6 bogeys and 3 birdies on the front for a 39 and then proceeded to shoot 51 on the back with three 8's….yikes

That is generally a pretty lethal combination as far as memorable or timeless golf goes, with about 1.25 exceptions.

Looks like the back has much longer 4's than the front. Sets up for me to go 39-51 also

1. Scottsdale
2. Sawgrass isn't very memorable besides 16-18.
3. Hardin Park
4. Sugarloaf
5. Southwind - I am bias since its my home course.

Well Sugarloaf doesn't host a PGA tour event and I forgot they bought Harding Park. Though it also doesn't host a PGA Tour event... The PGA champ and Presidents Cups a while ago.

Scottsdale is the one I gave the 0.25 to since I really only think the last 6 or so are memorable. And on #16 its only due to the build out, not the hole itself

Sawgrass I think is memorable 1-18.

Southwind, Deere Run, Louisiana, River Highlands, Summerlin, San Antonio... not really the cream of the crop for Tour courses.

The wind was blowing 25+ so 16-18 played directly into the wind and contributed 2 of those 8s. Hopefully you don't get that wind.

Enjoy! I'd love to play it again now that I've played it once.

.

Sawgrass is fantastic. My son played College golf and still ranks it #2 all time for him behind Peachtree.

I get to play Southwind a pretty good bit and enjoy it.

I have played Sugarloaf a couple times and liked it as well. Would love to play Harding some time.

Always thought TPC River Highlands looks cool on TV during the Travelers.

I've played River Highlands and I enjoyed it, fun layout. Don't have any other TPC experiences to compare.

I have not played since the renovation, but played a few times last year when my son worked there. The agronomy there can be really good but the layout is meh.
With the predominant south wind, 1,2,9,16-18 will all be into the wind and tough.
6 is my favorite hole, downhill par 4. 9 could be cool with a north wind, but terrible into the wind. 14 is a short par 4 that is interesting. 14 green is also my favorite spot to camp out at the tournament.
As mentioned, pretty bland course and I'm glad I never paid full price to play it. I'd rather go play the Bridges in Gunter over it any day. Caveat- it was cool to play about 2 weeks before the tournament last year with all the grandstands up.

Review...

Finally dug out at work long enough for a review.

Greens...it's going to be awesome watching the pro's putt the new greens. They have incredible swells and undulation...some of them a few feet in elevation change in between landing areas. Our caddie said that many of the pro's that have come out for practice rounds are dog cussing the green complexes! he said Spieth and Sheffler are out there a pretty good bit.

Condition...It's still coming in from the improvements. Fairways were in good shape, but there is still areas of sod that is coming in around the bunkers etc. Spoke to a member who told me that if I had been there a couple weeks prior, I would have had a much less favorable review of it.

Overall...I could see where some might not be crazy about the track, but I found it pretty fun. The staff and facilities were really nice and our caddie was good. If you played this course consistently, your index would travel really well.

Rating...7.5/10
