I'm going to be in Beaumont on Monday and thought I might check out a golf course in the area after I'm done with my morning meeting. Does anyone have any suggestions for a decent course that would be open on a Monday?

I launch my boat in the river next to Beaumont country club. That's all I've got.

Played Beaumont Country Club a number of years ago. Closest thing to Bushwood I've seen.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

Little bit of a drive but if you got all day Eagle Point in Mount Belvieu and the two casino courses in Lake Chuck are both an hour away.

Beaumont Country Club has always been okay when we played it. Nothing special about it but usually in decent shape and they have greens that are fairly elevated. Small elevated greens are its best defense. Henry Homberg has never been in good shape and Brentwood I never heard good things about it. Idylwood or Idylwild whatever it is called in Sour Lake near Beaumont has always been in bad shape! If it is even still there.

Your best bet might be 5 Under which I gather is a Top Golf sort of place.

Never thought I'd hear anyone asking how to spend more time in Beaumont.

No really cool or interesting golf courses in Beaumont. Never played at the country club. Thought you had to be a member or go with someone who is a member, but don't really know. Normally we play Bayou Din, it fits your decent description. During the week I think it's $30, cart included. So even if it doesn't meet what youre used to, you aren't out much. Brentwood used to be good, but has been rough the last few times I played there. Tyrell Park/Henry Homberg can be decent at times, but varies a lot.

Just looked at the Beaumont Country Club website and they are closed on Monday's.

Thank you all for your input. I live in Baytown, just thought it might be nice to try somewhere new while I was somewhere new, to me anyway. I wasn't too inspired by any of your Beaumont recommendations, to be honest. Ended up taking the scenic route back home and played a course I'm pretty familiar with, one of the finest 9 hole golf courses in the state, Liberty Municipal Golf Course. Those tiny elevated greens had me frustrated for four hours of solo golf on this beautiful Monday.

Everything in our area is goat ranch. Sunset is cool bc it's an original Donald Ross course. BCC is has the best 50 yds in you'll see anywhere. , wildwood is fun bc it's not a driver every hole. Casino courses aren't worth the money; save for tamika pines. If you get reciprocity go grays plantation or LCCC…. FWIW

So? What course did you decide to play to start off your Masters Tournament Week?
