[If I still lived in Texas, anywhere close to College Station, this would be a 'must attend' event for me. To those who are able to attend - have fun and post some pics if you can !!!]

COLLEGE STATION -- The No. 4 Texas A&M women's golf team will host a Selection Show Watch Party at Holleman Tavern Wednesday, April 29 from 3-5 p.m.

The Aggies will learn their regional assignment during the watch party at Holleman Tavern (3164 Holleman Dr S, College Station, TX 77845). Tickets for the event are $100 per person or couple and includes free food, drinks and the opportunity to spend time with the team and coaching staff. Tickets can be purchased here.

During the watch party, head coach Gerrod Chadwell and players will give insights on the year and there will be a look back at the 2025-26 campaign which featured five tournament victories and a semifinal berth at the SEC Championship.

WOMEN'S GOLF EARNS NO. 1 SEED AT WACO REGIONAL

INDIANAPOLIS -- The No. 4 Texas A&M women's golf team earned the one seed at the Waco regional which will take place at the Ridgewood Country Club May 11-13, the NCAA announced Wednesday.

The Aggies will be making their 33rd appearance in the NCAA postseason and fifth under the direction of head coach Gerrod Chadwell. The Waco regional is comprised of 12 teams, and the Maroon & White will need to finish within the top five of the field after 54 holes of stroke play in order to advance to the NCAA Championships in Carlsbad, California, April 22-27.

Texas A&M has won five tournaments this season with five different lineups. The team is fresh off a semifinal appearance at the SEC Championship. The Aggies have only finished outside of the top three as a squad once this year in 11 tournaments.

The Aggies are led by Vanessa Borovilos, who was recently named to the ANNIKA Award Postseason Watch List, and Cayetana FernAndez GarcIa-Poggio. Both golfers played at the prestigious 2026 Augusta National Women's Amateur and were preseason All-Americans.

This marks the second No. 1 seed for the program at an NCAA regional under Chadwell and the first time since 2023 when the Aggies went to the San Antonio Regional.

seems like a pretty high number of top 25 (top 26 specifically) teams...any idea how that compares to other regionals? With only 5 advancing, there's not much room for error.

I checked out all the regional seedings and the national team rankings (see links below). A quick glance looks like it is a decent spread amongst the six regionals. If we have a good regional we should be able to advance but we will have to play really well as a team to finish in the Top 5 nationally at the end of the tournament. We DO have the talent to do so but we have to be very, very consistent. Stanford is often the team to beat and it is the same this year - they are really talented !!! AND, youth phenom Asterisk Talley (class of '27) has signed with them so their future looks good, too, as usual.
