Gonna call it Bayou City Golf Company.. gonna be apparel and eventually a YouTube channel showcasing courses around the state of Texas.

If you/he wants some unsolicited feedback:
1. Switch to performance/polyester hats e.g. Imperial brand or similar. Don't see too many plastic/cotton trucker hats on the course.
2. Get a logo. Golf people are logo people. Starting with words only might be fine, but you're going to want a subtle but cool logo especially with a generic name.

Bayou City Golf Company is a bit of a mouthful and just busy.
I think just having the magnolia and "golf company" would look really cool on those caps.
I would also not have "established 2026" on anything

Agree on just the logo.
Stand by for a strongly worded letter from Augusta National!

"Golf Company" feels clunky and awkward to me

If we're giving feedback...If he sticks with Bayou City Golf Company then his logo needs to somehow related to Houston.
The magnolia flower looks great but it doesn't have a connection to the Bayou City so it comes off as random.
You'll capture more of the Houston golfers if you can connect the logo to the city of Houston with something cool and catchy.

This is probably nit picking but why is the star over Waco if it's Bayou City?

The Branding of the company stacks too many niches on top of each other. Golf is very narrow big picture and not everyone lives in Houston. He needs a more broad appeal. What if I live in Ohio and I am going to my son's baseball game? Why would I grab this hat as a head out the door? Zoom in - what if I live in San Antonio and I am going to play golf - why would I grab this hat or line of apparel?

Best of luck! The market is getting flush with options which is good. As some have mentioned above, it's hard to differentiate and it's also hard to take market share from Imperial, Millar, FJ, etc. Good time to be a consumer because there's a lot of options at all different price points.
