The previous owner of my home installed a Ring doorbell. To disconnect the old-school doorbell they just cut the wires for the old doorbell, tucked them back into the old doorbell, and reattached the old doorbell to the wall. There's a non-functional doorbell on the wall. I would like to reconnect the doorbell. However, to do this, I need to strip the very ends off wire. I have the proper tool because an electrician forgot it at my house and never came back for it. The wires are live. I think I remember that doorbell wires are low voltage? Do I need to turn off a breaker or something before I strip the end of the wires so that I don't die?
I know it would be best to turn off the breaker, but I don't know which breaker controls the doorbell.
