Is there no concern about water wicking on the back side of the cement board? I've only done full Kerdi or redguard and so haven't done it this way.
you have the pan liner up the wall with cement board the installed on top. Surface of the cement board is waterproofed, but isn't the bottom edge still exposing the back of the cement board to wicking water up it?

I'd like to know if the floor tile has some texture? It looks like it might be slippery when wet.

It did. Here is a pic of when the waterproofing was in progress on the pony wall. I don't think I took one when it was done.

TexAgs was helpful and asked all the right questions so thank you! I think it turned out pretty well.

Price for the demo and putback was $5,160.

Price for the hardie backer, waterproofing, and tile was $16,306.

It is gorgeous!
