How do they do these tile in one day? Is the one day process something that you can DIY?



Anyone have experience with these companies? Would it be worth messing with them vs just doing it yourself?

It's usually not tile, just panels that are screwed off to studs with overlapping seams caulked.

We looked into this for my in-laws a few years ago, and this is correct. They are overlapping fiberglass or acrylic panels installed over greenboard.

The answer to whether you can do it in one day is yes if you're handy and have literally every single piece of equipment you may happen to need on hand and you start at dawn and work until midnight. Thats all those guys do and there are m several laborers so they would be much more efficient than you will be. If you have a helper it will go infinitely faster. Surely you could knock it out in a weekend though.

If your DIY team is 3-5 guys deep like these outfits are, you have a runner for HD trips.

I do have the tools and skills, but was wondering what they were using for the 'tile' surround. I'm used to a three day tile job.

We have a bathroom to do, but have been putting it off. It has a vast iron tub and getting that out is no fun.

My thin skin has been penetrated by internet offenses..

I think Aggietaco actually answered my question on how they can do the job in a day: not real tiles…

They make thin set for the pros who can tile in one day so it's possible. Not sure if that includes demo though.

If you use large format tile it will also go much quicker.
