so full disclosure, I'm an idiot.

That being said....as I'm drinking coffee this morning, I just realize that I spread at least 1.5 lbs of prodiamine on my 4000 sq ft yard a couple of days ago. (doing too many things at once and just swapped over to Prodiamine a year and a half ago). I spread it with a rotary spreader (opposed to mixing it with water and spraying it per the instructions).

So basically I just overdosed the hell out of my yard. Feel free to flame....then let me know what my next step should be. Gemini said go buy some activated charcoal and spread it. Some other websites said water the hell out of it and do nothing else. Just thought I'd ask here.

You put down 1.5lbs of the prodiamine that's supposed to be mixed with water and sprayed?

Yeah I was making sure I read that correctly. I'd try charcoal. That's what's recommended on specticle flo label as well which is a much stronger root pruner.

If your yard is healthy, you probably won't see any damage. If you have thin spots you are trying to grow grass into - probably won't happen for a while.
Prodiamine will root-prune. But, it works by forming a layer in the soil - at about 1/2" below the soil surface - and has new plants grow from seed the sprouts/seedlings encounter that layer and translocate the chemical downwards stopping cell division and killing the new seedlings.

Good, healthy grass has roots well below that layer in the soil.

With what you did, I probably wouldn't have watered it and went out and mowed the grass with a bag and picked up as much of the product as possible.

I don't think it will do anything. For one, it needs the water to break down, and for another, it needs water after application to water it in and activate it.

ALWAYS read the instructions on a herbicide VERY carefully. You have to make sure you get the right mixture ratios. I have a chart for my chemicals that involved a lot of calculations. I did it on Excel, printed it out, laminated it, and keep it in my garage. I still review it. I base my ratios on my sprayer sizes (currently 2 and 4 gallons).

That's obviously many orders of magnitude beyond recommend dose, but my guess is you will be fine.
